***Due to heavy subject matter and sexual content, this book is recommended for ages 18+***

Nothing Left to Lose is a sexy New Adult romance dealing with love, lust, loss and grief. First uploaded online, it surpassed 25 million reads before publication.

Annabelle Spencer’s life is every girl’s dream. She has wonderful parents, great friends, and of course the perfect boyfriend, Jack Roberts. That all changes on her sixteenth birthday when her life comes crashing down around her. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer.

After ten months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. She’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors. It appears that Carter broke not only her body, but her spirit too. A shadow of her former self, her slogan for life is now: ‘If you don’t care about anything, then you have nothing to lose’.

Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction that Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unbeknown to Anna, death threats are being received by her father, the Senator. It appears that Carter is still interested in Anna and will stop at nothing to get her back.

Ashton Taylor is brought in to protect her. He’s a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency’s new golden boy. He is assigned undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months’ time.

For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain, but can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her?

All the while, the shadow of the trial looms over the both of them, taunting them, reminding them that it isn’t over yet. After all, Carter Thomas will stop at nothing to be reunited with his ‘Princess’.

I share other people's mixed reviews on this book.

Yes, it did seem to go on a bit in places, a bit drawn out and i found myself yawning and becoming a bit disinterested.
At times, i was also getting frustrated with Anna.....i can understand the premise behind her behaviour (her traumatic past history) but i also found it difficult to believe she'd be so stupid / blind / pathetic during some parts of the book.

It's also a bit thin in other places too, the realism of the story, but i just had to take a step back from time to time and say to myself, "this is fiction"....just like i do about movies, when things seem a little far-fetched.

On the upside, it had some lovely elements of romance and HEA....i also liked the comedic moments and the parts of the book where they were in LA with Ashton's friends were some of fave bits....they were fun characters and i could relate to the banter among the guys. When Anna DID start to let go of her past, there were some heart-pleasing moments (i literally said out loud "FINALLY!" a few times).

All in all, i've rated it as average.....it's neither the best or the worst i have read, but it was ok to pass the time.

I really loved this book. The first chapter was really hard to read. But this was a wonderful, romantic read in spite of what Anna has been through. It is long and at times it felt long. Also it was at times a little sappy but that felt right for the characters so it didn't bother me like it usually would. I was totally in love with Ashton Taylor - every girl needs a boy like Ashton.

I'd recommend this read, when it is feeling slow hang in there. It is totally worth it. And have some tissues handy.

This may possibly be my favourite Kirsty Moseley book. It tells the tragic story of Annabelle Spencer who is ripped from her idyllic life on her 16th birthday, sees her boyfriend murdered and is forced to live with his murderer. After almost a year living with Carter she is rescued and has to be protected 24/7 by Swat agent Ashton Taylor. A wonderfully tragic story of love, lust, tragedy and complete and utter heartache. Loved Ashton with a passion. What a completely fantastic read.

The first chapter is a bit gruesome but the book does develop into a well crafted story about two young people, both in pretty unusual situations, who develop a relationship well beyond what they expect.
Sex is important but not overdone and the plot has enough twists to make it hard to put down most of the time.
Good for those who want something light and racy with likeable characters and a bit more than just romance.

I loved the pace that this book took, making me itch to pick it up every day. I grew attached to Ashton and Anna and the gradual development of their bond. Their passion was realistic and made we want to journey to the Maldives with them.

As one of the best written progression of a romantic relationship I have read for a while, this took me on an emotional, exciting and suspenseful journey - I highly recommend it.

Kirsty is a truly gifted storyteller. She knows how to write characters that simply capture your heart, whether it be the grief stricken Anna or the hunky gentleman Ashton.

While the story is long, it is well paced with extensive detail that makes you feel as if you are right there with them.

A brilliant read and one I highly recommend.

The first chapter was hard to read (was crying by the end of it) This is the first book I have read by Kirsty Moseley, but definitely not the last one. It was a great love story and a story of such a struggle for Anna you had to feel for her and was good to see her overcome such horrors.

This is a fantastic book if u r looking for a homely love story that makes you giggle uncontrollably and cry when you know that nothing can get better. But be surprised and ready for some action. I can even admit I am a little scared to go to a Bar now, just in case!
