Most people that are clever enough to come up with a response (besides hanging up) to telemarketers will stick to that story in the future. Not so with Ryne Pearson. This book is hilarious. Buy it. Read it. Then keep this book by your phone at all times, and be ready to use it as a script for those inevitable calls. Or do as he suggests and read it aloud at parties or family gatherings with someone playing the caller and the callee. Whatever you do, don't leave this page without clicking on "Add To My Cart."
This is the kind of book that you should take to a party or bring the next time you get together with friends. The zany vignettes are best read aloud. Laugh along with your friends as you take turns "performing" these little skits. A good time is guaranteed. The book is a quick read, very enjoyable, and I highly recommend it.
Amusing, but glad I didn't pay more than $2.99. I agree with another reviewer that this would make a good bathroom book. A lot of these stories are along the lines of the things I WISH I had done after hanging up. Things that didn't come to me during the call itself. And frankly, I suspect that at least some of these stories occurred to the author after the call was over. I don't believe they all are real "transcripts" of calls.
We all get those dreaded telemarketer call. We hang up, breath heavy into the phone, hand the phone to our significant other. Ryne Douglas Pearson talks to them. His conversations will have you in stitches and making you wish you were as clever as he is. Enjoy!
While this is quite a different track from Mr Pearson's previous books, it is non-the-less excellent. His suggestion to read it to others was spot on. If laughter is the best medicine, this book causes ODs.
I LOVE Ryne's latest book. So different from his other books which I loved also. It's very funny, I can just imagine him on the phone with the Telemarketers.. He really had them going. This may sound strange but as most of the stories are one or two pages I think it would make a great funny "Bathroom Book " :-).
I've enjoyed reading some of Ryne Pearson's other books, so I bought this new book. Thanks for making me laugh outloud. I actually had someone ask me what was so funny so I read one of the stories to him. I am so tired of the nightly telemarketer calls. I wish I could think as quickly as Pearson does.
