Amazing Bag! Extremely Functional!

The NOMATIC 30L Travel Bag is probably one of the best purchases I made when it released 2 or 3 years ago. It's great for a 3 to 4 day trip which I often find myself on. I tend to carry quite a bit of things so wouldn't be able to do pack for anything beyond 4 days 3 nights. They have released a 40L bag as well which maybe a better option for those wanting to carry an extra bit more. Unfortunately it's not available on Amazon and I hope they launch it soon!! The product has great wear and tear, it's waterproof, it's functional and looks amazing!!! This is my second bag which I'm gifting to a family member, the first was off kick-starter.

I ordered this bag off the Amazon site. Right out of the box, I could tell this had been a return because it wasn't in the bag, nor did it have the paper wrap around it. No big deal, except that I suspect the return was because the zippers had a very hard time making it around the sharp corners of the bag, and one of them, was in fact, stuck. So I returned the bag.

I ordered another bag from the Nomatic website. Love at first site... then.... crushed. The flap that encloses the two handles so you can grab the bag in duffle mode broke. The snap came apart from the cloth. This literally happened two minutes after testing the bag right out of the box. The snaps are not supported by any type of thicker cloth so they pull right out. So I contacted Nomatic's warranty system on their website, and they suggested that I take it to a tailor to get it fixed! I'm like, WHAT? Seriously? They said I could return the bag, and once they got the bag, they would then send out another bag and that might take 3-4 weeks. Totally unacceptable. They use ground shipping from Utah so depending on where you live returning the bag can take a long time. So ultimately, I did return it. I just could not justify spending $250 on a bag that can fall apart so easily. No YKK zippers. Snaps are not gusseted for strength.

It is a beautiful design and it holds an amazing amount of stuff, BUT, it is cheaply built. Especially when you compare it to REI, Tortuga, Patagonia, Topo Design, Aer. I have tried those bags, and I like the design of Nomatic the best, but the build quality sucks. The others are all top of the line builds. Nomatic is not.

Reviews warned us but it fit the need - so sad that it may not make it through a second trip. This was used once by a flight attendant and never went through the regular airline handling system. When we returned it because of POOR QUALITY CONSTRUCTION, this vendor claimed the product was stained and smelled. OUTRIGHT LIES! Stay away from this product AND this vendor. We are out the money and the gift. Never received a refund.

The quality is not what I was expecting for the price I paid. Threads are coming out after a couple of trips. The side pockets are ok, but if you fill the main compartment with your clothes you can’t practically use them. It doesn’t stand when you put it down which is annoying. It’s bulkier than I was expecting. The zippers get stuck sometimes which makes you think if they will last.

I buy nearly everything but food from Amazon. This is a great bag, but it is an expensive bag. I'm the type of person who LOVES quality, hence why I pulled the trigger on this bag.
Upon opening the package, one could tell it had been shipped to several people. Scratch marks everywhere on the wrapping... The bag was definitely used, because I found a travel sized tube of tooth paste in one of the pockets... Overall good looking travel bag, it seems to be good quality, but the romance was taken out of the experience...I'm sending it back.
