The NF-A20 is a highly optimised, premium quality quiet 200mm fan. Featuring an AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A20 brings the renowned quiet cooling performance of Noctua’s award-winning A-series to the increasingly popular 20cm form factor. The PWM version uses Noctua’s custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers, which allows it to strike a perfect balance between quietness and ventilation performance in each given situation. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make the NF-A20 an elite choice for the highest demands.
Award-winning Noctua quality in 20cm size
While more and more PC cases support 20cm intake, side-panel or exhaust fans, many of the bundled stock units and available aftermarket options are of questionable quality. By contrast, the NF-A20 is a true premium grade solution worthy of Noctua’s award-winning A-series.
Caution: As there is no fixed industry standard for the shape, thickness or hole spacing of 200mm, 220mm, 230mm or 250mm fans, compatibility can vary from case to case. Please check compatibily before purchase. A case compatibility list can be found on the Noctua website.
Flow Acceleration Channels
The NF-A20 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.
The NF-A20 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
154mm, 110x180mm and 170mm hole spacing
In order to ensure broad compatibility with today’s PC cases, the NF-A20 features three sets of mounting holes: While the 154x154mm and 110x180mm spacing allow it to replace most 200mm fans, the 170x170mm spacing is used by many 230 and 250mm fans, which can thus also be replaced by the NF-A20.

The previous 200mm fan (Antec Big Boy) was ok but I could definitely hear the fan and it, frankly, annoyed me!
Enter the Noctua... this fan is connected to my Asus chassis 4 pin port and I've configured the bios to have it in quiet mode. I've not needed to use the supplied "noise reducer"... it's very very quiet.
It didn't quite fit in my antec case (there is not standard for 200mm fans sadly) but I was able to make work with the supplied rubber "screws" as they stretch to allow for the mismatch in holes.... basically if you have a 200mm hole in your case and you care about silence, then this could well be the best fan ever invented.

Noctua simply make the best fans and trust me! I've used a lot (Coolermasters, Arctic, Corsair and Thermaltake), not only do Noctua output more pressure and air but they last far longer than any other fan I have purchased. I purchased the 200mm and was so impressed that I have since replaced all my 120mm Corsair fans with Noctuas.
+ Professional packaging
+ High RPM
+ High CFM
+ High air pressure
+ Great durability
+ Screw hole configuration (supports lots of different cases)
The Noctua fan is a bit on the expensive side but comes well packaged and comes with two sets of anti-vibration mounts, screws, an extension cable, y-splitter and a low noise adapter. So when you consider the extras you get in the box as well as the 6 year warranty and excellent build quality Noctua have become known for it's easy to forgive the high price as you are getting a premium item in return.
Since there is no standard 200mm fan mounting solution at the moment, this Noctua fan comes with a whole variety of options and you should be able to find a way to mount this fan fairly easily. The rubber corners help to reduce vibration, pair that with the included anti-vibration mounts and you shouldn't have to worry about any vibration rattling around the case.
The fan is basically silent all the way up to around 75/80% fan speed and it moves a whole lot of air at that speed, above that the noise starts to increase but isn't as loud of my other case fans when my computer is under load so this is a great fan choice if noise is a concern.
I encountered an installation issue however - the fan was thicker than my old Cooler Master fan, so I had problem putting back the front cover of the case. I had to close it by force, breaking the tabs of the dust filter in the process. Noctua mentioned on their website that this fan is compatible with the case I have, but my experience says otherwise. I think Noctua needs to factor in the fan's thickness when making the compatibility list because it is a bit misleading.
