Product description

Product Description

This mammoth omnibus edition collects the very best erotica by the writer the Bay Area Reporter calls "perhaps the best dick-stiffening author in the land" (though Travis also counts many female readers among his legions of fans).

This collection of almost 90,000 words includes the supernatural classic "Blue Light"; "Crown of Thorns," an espionage story with a vicious twist; "The Hit," Travis' super-hot take on gangsters and film noir; "Getting Timchenko," perhaps his most poignant story; "Kudzu," perhaps his most disturbing; and the complete novel SLAVES OF THE EMPIRE, in which the gladiator Magnus defies the will of Rome's most dangerous senator to satisfy his lust with a pair of enslaved barbarian twins.

Lars Eighner called "Getting Timchenko" "the finest thing I have read in years, possibly ever." cbtboyuk at gaybdsmfiction.blogspot.com said: "'Kudzu' is horrifying. In real life, it would be unthinkable…I've had to buy a number of copies though." Michael Bronski wrote: "SLAVES OF THE EMPIRE has gained near-mythological status…A high point of gay male writing in the second half of the twentieth century." And "The Hit" was voted the #1 erotic story of the decade by readers of Susie Bright’s Best American Erotica series.

If you've never discovered the work of Aaron Travis before, this volume will be a feast for your erotic imagination. As Travis writes in his introduction, "The function of fantasy is to take us from one side of the looking glass to the other, allowing us to experience degrees of terror and excitement we otherwise might never know. Now, draw the curtains and turn off the phone. Open your mind. Let down your guard. Let me tell you a story..."

NO SHADES OF GRAY is also available as an Audible Audio Edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the hottest, most skillful writers out there. Period. 11 March 2013

My collection of Aaron Travis works goes back many years and I am delighted to have so much all in one convenient e-book - not to mention the audio version! If you like your gay sex to be more than innuendo and fan-fic level romance, if you can get into a spinner of tales who can terrify and arouse *at the same time* - if you enjoy a range of stories from lyrical and affectionate to downright brutal and filled with non-consensual torment and of course, searing hot sex...this is where to go.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not My Cup of Tea 1 July 2013

I ordered this book after seeing a reference to the author in an unrelated book review in the NY Times. I have very few reserves about well-written pornography (and this is certainly well-written and pornographic) but this collection is over the top MM/SM fantasy. I read through "Blue Light" and admit that it is without a doubt one of the most unusual, imaginative, sexual fantasies that I have ever come across. It was not my fantasy, however! If the function of pornography is to be lubricious, in my case this story shocked me, but didn't excite me. I guess it is just not my cup of tea...or whatever. If you are into MM SM and know what that means, this book could very well me your masterpiece/

It's OK as far as "pulp" fiction goes, and will do the job if you are just looking for stimulation and relief, but don't expect "literature" in this book.
