If you want to read the honest story of how the Alice Cooper band rose and fell apart, this tells you the outline of that story, as told by a member of that original band. Michael Bruce and his band member Billy James have put this together.
You have to remember that at the start, Alice Cooper was the name of the band and not the singer.
The author is quite (astonishingly) forgiving regarding the betrayal of the band's singer, Vince Furnier, who teamed up with their producer and took the name Alice Cooper and the band's business all for himself, screwed the band out of writing credits, earnings and eventually, employment. All for one and all to Alice...
This book contains a good selection of photos of personal photographs and band memorabilia and makes an excellent brief companion to the Dennis Dunaway book on the same subject, which goes into a lot more detail and for me, is the best rock autobiography I've read in a long time.
