Tempest Marshall lost her fiance 9 years ago and apparently never got over the hurt. Well she decides she wants a baby (because she's getting older) and she doesnt want any strings attached.
Somewhere in the first chapter the anonymous donor idea gets ditched and she decides her boss Layton Grayhawk would be the perfect dad.
For the rest of the book most of Tempest's dialogue consisted of "I dont understand", " this just doesnt seem real" or" We need to talk".
I was beginning to think maybe she was mentally challenged because Layton had to keep giving her the same reassurances over and over again throughout the book.
I think the idea of the story was great but the author missed the mark.
The review by C.Chapman really hit the nail on the head and I wished I had heeded that review before purchasing this book.
I'm hoping the 2nd book in the series is better.
Layton fell for Tempest when he first met her but the timing was always wrong. He was married initially and once he was divorced she was in a semi serious relationship. He has always shown interest in who she is dating, but Tempest thinks he is just being a friend. At his company party, they kiss and the sparks fly. They share an unbelievable night together and she wakes up with doubts.
Layton is a man who is used to getting what he wants and he wants Tempest. He is determined to make her his life partner, but he has his own insecurities and doubts.
The Grayhawk men are some devastatingly handsome mysterious men and I can't wait to read about the others.
