Product Description

Collected together for the first time are thirteen tales of the best Cthulhu Mythos horror and weird short stories written by award-winning Australia speculative fiction author, David Conyers.

A war time spy rescues a woman from the Sahara who has walked unscathed from a massacre of a thousand men. A mother sailing the ocean on a family holiday finds herself lost on a cargo ship where all the crew are made of paper. A business man becomes trapped in his hotel room because gravity has unexpectedly reversed for him. A reckless driver commits a serious crime and is forced to see out his twenty year sentence as a dog. Every story is a nightmare from which the victims cannot escape.

THE NIGHTMARE DIMENSION includes the previously unpublished “The Dream Quest of a Thousand Cats”, collaborations with David Kernot, Brian M. Sammons, and David Witteveen, as well as Conyers’ most popular Cthulhu Mythos stories “Sister of the Sands”, “Subtle Invasion” and “The Swelling”.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nightmare, indeed. 4 August 2013

Great book of short stories and not a stinker in the bunch. The first three intertwined stories are particularly original and the first one (Dream Machine) is downright spooky and disturbing (in a good way).
I understand short stories aren't what David Conyers usually writes, but you'd never know it by this excellent book.
3.0 out of 5 stars interesting mixture of post-Lovecraftian influences and Weird Fiction 15 October 2013

While marred by a few word choices per chapter, this is common for electronic texts at this price- point. Some stories are better than others, but all are of at least reasonable quality. For me, the frequent references to contemporary Australia were quite novel and added an air of mystery.

A great anthology of 'Cthulhu Mythos' related stories. Very well written and spooky. I have read a lot of Conyers work and am always impressed. His books always end up in my permanent library.

A collection of engaging, un-nerving and memorable tales from across the multiverse. I have found myself getting sucked into Conyers' world...
