I should put a disclosure here; I've been a huge fan of Thorgrim right from the first novel in this series. Nelson' s latest offering does not disappoint, just when you thought things couldn't get any worse for Thorgrim at the end of 'Glendalough Fair'...
This is the first of the 'Night Wolf' books when I've thought that you really do need to have read the previous book, there are reminders as you go but to start with I began to think I'd better reread the previous book before continuing but I managed without it in the end.
I wasn't sure how this novel would go because it came so quickly after the last one, but the quality was still there. This is a fast paced tale of shifting fortunes and alliances. There's plenty of Viking cunning and a good few surprises, can't wait for the next one!
