I must admit that when I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be a long, boring read, even after reading the reviews below. For the first couple of chapters, I thought it would be. But as soon as our Private Eye...er...Computer programmer rushed into the picture, I was captured! Oh the love that was described between Caleb and Rey was most romantic! This wasn't one of those Boy meets girl - boy loses girl - boy admits his undying love to girl books; and I'm glad about that because sometimes those just depress me so badly! I hate it when they are in love then break up in order to meet a climax to the story...
I loved Caleb's pet name for his Rey - "Cat." One of my favorites lines was "Don't scratch, Cat." I loved how he forced her to let him be her knight in shining armor! I tell ya, if she doesn't want the knight, I'll take him in a heartbeat because he's definitely a keeper!!! I wonder if he was her "Private Eye" like she was his "Cat..."
This book was long, which made the words rather small and I again had to use a magnifying glass in order to read. I got it finished in three days (reading before retiring for the evening). This is a mystery, but even me who doesn't know much about national intelligence and government mystery was able to follow what was going on! If I can do it, you can too!
I'm kind of sad it's over. There are so many questions left unanswered. What DID happen to them after they married? Did he grab her by the hair and drag her back to Georgia to his boat? Did he settle in the mansion with Rea? Did he continue to be a consultant and help with crime? Did he give that up for Rea? So many questions, but oh so wonderful! I'm waiting for the movie!!!
Good story line and is inspirational fiction written in 90's. Sara Mitchell is good author and I have purchased another book that I am anxious to read. This book was yellowed and wrinkled as it has been around a while. Seller took care of that.
