I must admit I do love a friends to lovers story. So while Daisy Prescott is a new author to me, I really enjoyed this fast, fun, flirty read while I'm on holidays. It was high entertaining as well as laugh out loud funny in parts. Stan lives next door to Sage and they have become great friends over the past two years. They are both completely attracted to each other but are firmly in the "friend zone".
After Stan gets injured one night (he pretends it's a skiing accident but he just tripped on a rock in the carpark!), Sage finds herself spending more time than is usual with him. She is not complaining though, Stan is a gorgeous guy, plays rugby, models and doesn't have to try when it comes to finding female companionship. However this complicates life for him as fending off uninvited advances is wearing a bit thin lately so he comes up with a proposal.....
Sage agrees to be his pretend girlfriend so he can ward off the unwanted advances and recuperate in peace. However, the lines get a bit blurred and they get so good at acting the part they find themselves doing it when no one is around to see it.
'I never realised how deeply she's penetrated my world. Focused on not getting close to her, not letting her in, I missed the ways she snuck inside through my cracks and weak spots.'
This was a very sweet, light hearted story with some great funny dialogue between the two witty protagonists. If you like easy, fast, friends to lovers story that will keep a goofy smile on your face, then this is for you.

I love a book that can make me laugh out loud and swoon at the same time. Really well written - lots of witty dialogue that moved the story along brilliantly with the occasional nutty detour. The characters were very likable and the story was deep enough to keep me invested and glued to my kindle but light enough that I feel pleasantly buzzed now that its over. Would highly recommend.

I was bored, scrolling through Amazon and when I read this book description, I thought it sounded like it would be entertaining and I wasn't wrong! It was really funny and sweet; both Sage and Lee were great characters with super strong chemistry. The story line was predictable but it didn't take away from me wanting to finish so I could see what happened, however, as soon as it was over,
I just wanted to start again. I definitely recommend!

I loved this book. It was funny and while we all know how it will end, it was a fantastic way to get there. It was easy to read and the characters were very well written and a lot more realistic then some romance novels. I laughed out loud so much in this book that my hubby had to come and see what I was doing. I will definitely be getting more Daisy Prescott books.

I just finished reading the next book in this series, but then came back to this one. I must say, I was pretty disappointed by the plotline of this compared to the other. Maybe it's just a matter of perspective, but the book got really boring toward the end and more than a little predictable. I was also pretty disorientated by the writing style to find it an easy, enjoyable read. Not the best, but it was okay.

I was so close to giving next To You five stars but i stopped myself mainly because some parts of the book became slightly boring and maybe not necessary to the progression of the story line. The story had a lot of character and drama at times. The characters are really great and you can see a connection between them but i kind of wish that there was more drama and more flirtatious moments between the pair.

This is a lovely story. Lee is your very handsome South African rugby player and Sage is his next door neighbour. He falls whilst skiing and fractures his ankle and Sage helps him when he gets home from the hospital. He kisses her when she bakes for him and the kiss turns into something more. They pretend to be in a fake relationship but nothing about them is fake, he wants her permanently.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2020
I love the banter between the two main characters. This story was so easy to read with all the LOL moments. Sage's family is hilarious too, I can see where she get he humor from. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book.

Such a sweet chummy story with lots of under the surface brooding. Well written and fast flowing - great banter mainly between the two lead characters. Well worth a read. I do enjoy this authors sense of humor and style.

An easy to read romance between a South African rugby player and his friend and next door neighbour Sage. No surprises but a nice gentle holiday read.
