Once on, I noticed they are a bit on the narrow side but they do run small and in my experience with NB, you've got to order at least a half size up, which I had done. Plenty of room forward of the toes, basic support, close to no arch support, again, as expected, but I don't need those. They insole does come out and better or more supportive insoles could be substituted if needed, but be mindful of ordering a size up from your already adjusted up size for that.
I really love the color scheme I got, the stitching and construction look like good quality but time will tell. I bought these for walking and light running etc and hope they serve the purpose well.
I will update if I have any reason to complain. So far I really like them.
The beauty of NB has always been their widths - but it seems that more and more lately I need to order many pairs until one fits.
Another annoying thing is that they will ship you a 4E sometimes as wide - when a regular wide 2E is needed. If it is going to be 4E - then it needs to say extra wide! Some do - but a lot do not say this.
What would be the tongue is an elastic swath sewn to both sides so it can't fold out of the way, so getting your feet in is a little more work than a normal shoe.
The tread pattern means it does not pick up small rocks in crevices, a huge benefit. Walking on pavement feels sort of like a foot massage and sort of like walking on spongy rubber bumps, which you are.
