This book is one sensational read!
It has everything from action and suspense to passion.
The book has a complex storyline that immediately gets the reader immersed in the story and very intrigued. The characters are well developed and easy to identify with making them real, especially Nina Cross.
This is one book that keeps you on your toes and on the edge of your seat!
Don't miss this one it is terrific.

Wow Melissa Jane has done it again. Another fab story from her if you love a good Mafia read then this is certainly for you. It is actioned packed right from the word go. Murder, Sex(really hot sex), Betrayal, Revenge and Suspense. Yes it is all here for your enjoyment.

Nina Cross "rookie" FBI Agent is out to find justice for her partners murder. Although warned to GO WIDE,she decides to ignore the warning and digs deeper into the reasons why her partner was killed, thus putting a target on her own back.

Hiding in the shadows is Jair Ruiz, a man sent to protect her, to shadow her and not be seen.

Thinking that protection is not required, Nina decides to go on alone until coming face to face with a man pointing a gun at her. Of course Jair is there once again to protect her.

Is he a man who can be trusted, can you believe everything that he says to her. Is he a Saint or a Devil in disguise?

Just when you think you know where this story is headed, BOOM, everything changes. The suspense had me sitting on the edge of my seat and mid way through you could have knocked me over with a feather at the change of pace this book provided. (less)

Well, that was a wee bit heart pumping. I just finished Never Trust a Saint in one day. I don’t get to read all day much anymore. You know the drill, life gets in the way, people to see, places to go, all the other stuff that gets put ahead of reading. But today, my little man went off to his first overnight camp. Of course, he’s not stressed at all. I hardly even got a goodbye hug from him. Bloody boys, don’t they realise it’s HARD. Mum’s worry. Anyways…I was a little bit sad. No tears mind you just an underlying worry that he might get there and realise he does miss me. I know Ha bloody HA…AS IF!! So, to distract me from my worry I started reading and boy did I get sucked in.

I realised quickly that I needed to have my wits about me. The pace is fast, the explanations come to you rapid fire and the names whiz by if you’re not paying attention. I don’t read books like this one very often and I was surprised how much I was into it. There are rival gangs, FBI agents and drug lords to keep note of. Borders and areas mapped out for distributions and places where productions take place. It was explained well, but at times I had to re-read to make sure I got it all straight.

Nina is an FBI agent who specialises in fraud and money laundering. She and her partner of a year Garcia, are good friends as well. When a tragedy happens and Garcia is killed, Nina starts asking questions. Unfortunately, she asks too many questions to the wrong people. Next thing she knows she’s the target of a drug cartel. It’s time for Nina to GO WIDE – AKA – Get the F#*K out of town.

Who can she trust? Who should she turn to? One man charges into her life when she needs him the most. Who is he? Who does he work for? Why is he helping her?

The man with many names is a bit of a ghost.

Never Trust a Saint is a great first installment in the Los Santos Cartel story. It's filled with suspense, twists, action and LUST by the end you will be hanging for more.

Nina is a FBI agent wanting answers for a death others are trying to hide. Looking for these answers leaves Nina as a target and not just a small one, she is the target of a drug cartel. A dark mysterious stranger enters her life wanting to help her all the while telling her he can not be trusted. Still there is a pull to him, he makes her body tingle, she can't help but want him.

Jair Ruiz is there to protect Nina all the while warning her, her attraction to him and the passion they share is sizzling. On the run from those who are hunting her, she sides with the devil. Letting her guard down and letting her body take over. Jair Ruiz is a mystery and his words were true, you can never trust a Saint...

This story started off slow but held you with mystery. The attraction at the start did seem very fast paced, being an FBI agent and all. Nina isn't a strong heroine and often gave in too easily, I would have loved to have seen her put up more of a fight and become kickass. Overall, the mystery around Jair and his way with words had me wondering who this man truly was. By the end I was intrigued to find out what is store for Nina and Jair. They may have answers Nina was looking for but in the end it left an even bigger target on her head.

5.0 out of 5 stars JUST WHO IS JAIR RUIZ???? 27 October 2016

Melissa Jane has given us the start to what promises to be a wonderful series. Never Trust A Saint started with a bang and continued to explode throughout the rest of the story. It was intriguing, suspenseful and thrilling from beginning to end. There were so many twists and turns in the story that my heading was constantly swinging from one direction to the next - but it was so worth it.

Nina Cross is a rookie FBI agent, whose life is about to undergo a change she never thought would happen. Her partner is killed in a violent attack that is pushed under the carpet - but Nna wants this mystery solved. With questions being asked and to the wrong people, Nina immediately becomes the new target of a drug cartel that leads to some very sticky situations. But one man becomes her saviour - but is he really? Or is he the one that is after her? Can she trust him?

Jair Ruiz, is that is real name? What is he hiding? Jar comes into Nina's life just when she needs him the most. But is he really the man who she thinks he is? He is there, conveniently, whenever Nina needs him, a man who seems to hide in the shadows but steps out when required. he knows how to get what he wants.....especially when he wants Nina.....he works wonders with his body that causes Nina to become sidetracked on so many occasions.

This book is fast paced and kept me hooked all the way through. I smply did not or actually could not put it down. It was such a mesmerising story tha I always need to know what was going to happen next, but what I expected didn't always eventuate. Ms Jane is defintely a storyteller that you will want to read. Brilliant comes to mind and so does exceptonal.

i really look forward to reading the nexxt book in the series....The Perfect Stranger.

FIVE STARS from this thoroughly intrigued reader.

3.0 out of 5 stars GOOD STORY... BUT STILL I HAD SOME ISSUES.... 27 March 2016

This story promises a good dose of action, blood, guns, drug cartels plus an FBI agent and a mysterious man.
I have to be honest an admit that I was suck it to the plot very fast, but still they were a few things that didn't click with me. For starters our heroine is an FBi that sometimes seems to think things to much, leading her to make rookie mistakes. Our main male character is portraited to be tough rough and on a mission, but sometimes it seems he thinks more with his head down there than the one up above his shoulders.
I love my cartel stories, but los Santos is one Cartel I an not going to follow to book #2....

Wow this book took me on a roller coaster ride! I couldn't get enough. This book is more suspense and mystery with a bit of romance but I loved it just the same. This book was recommended to me and I'm so happy she did, I now have another amazing author on my list. This is the first time I have read Ms. Jane's work and it will not be the last.
Can wait for the next book!
4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting and suspenseful 31 October 2016

This was both exciting and suspenseful.

Nina Cross, rookie FBI agent is just doing her job the best she can until...
she becomes public enemy number one, her partner dies and is hunted by not one but two feuding cartels. She meets one person who seems like he can help her..

I am your ruin.

Then things get really interesting, in a world where no one knows who is good and who is evil, Nina must learn to fly all by herself. With people after her and no good answers to what in the world is happening she is left without any help from the agency who is supposed to protect her. The devil is usually who you least expect and in this case the devil may be her salvation...or not.

This was a quick read and perhaps it was because there was a lot going on or I was just that sucked in. There was a whole lot of double-crossing with some serious sexual chemistry. This is also the beginning of a story, things are left unsettled and I was not nearly satisfying enough because the threats are still out there and someone is about run head-first into it. I'm so happy book two is waiting for me so I can see what is next.
5.0 out of 5 stars Holy s*** this book was amazing, lots of action and dirty sex!!! 8 February 2016

How do I even start this review except HOLY S**# this book was amazing!!!!

This was the first book by Melissa Jane that I have read and couldn't put it down, the first day I had half of it read because I had to read/see what was going to happen next. Never Trust a Saint (NTAS) will grab you right from the Prologue which is short but really catches your attention. This is how it is throughout the whole book because the author has many twists that you really want to find out what is going to happen and also keeps you guessing throughout the whole book.

Nina Cross is a strong, independent FBI agent. She may be strong and independent however her life is turned upside down when he partner, Tomas Garcia is killed and she is now hunted for reasons she does not know. All Nina wants to do is find out who killed Tomas but how far is she will to go? However, will she find this out or will she be killed herself?

Then there is her Sexy, Mysterious Stranger (Jair Ruiz)!!! He is powerful, great with a gun, and very confident when he wants something. The only thing is he who he says he is? He has his sights set on Nina and will stop at nothing to have her. However, he never answers her questions completely and he has his reason for doing this, which drives Nina crazy. Is it to protect Nina or is it to bring her down? Also, will Nina heed his warnings or will she fall for her mysterious stranger?

This book contains tons of action, that is dark and dirty and not all of it is in the sex department.

I will admit this is not my normal type of book that I would read but am so glad that I took the chance and read it because it has now introduced me to a new author that I will be reading the rest of her books. The reasons that this is not my normal type of book was because of some of the gun fights were a little descriptive. However, I will say that this did make the book more amazing because it helped build the plot twist throughout the book.

The whole book was/is written beautifully to keep you reading and wanting more. She was able to give you the back story of all the characters throughout the story without making the story choppy. This allowed you to bond/understand them all a little better and also to understand what is really going on in the story.

This book does leave you with a small cliffhanger but is so worth the read!!! I can't wait for book two The Perfect Stranger to come out.
