Never Save a Demon (A Daughter of Eve Book 1) Kindle Edition
Rule #1: Never save a demon’s life.
Lyn Conway is a hot mess. She’s past due on her rent, can’t get clients to take her paranormal investigations business seriously, and … Oh yeah, she’s a demon hunter who broke the ultimate rule. She didn’t mean to save a demon’s life. She thought she was saving a cute guy from a horrific attack. But now?
Sam. Won’t. Die.
That is, he won’t die until she does.
Being bound to a gorgeous demon isn’t all that bad, until women who look suspiciously similar to Lyn start dropping dead with a demonic seal carved into their flesh. The tables have turned. The hunter is being hunted. Fortunately, Lyn lives with her number one suspect.
Never Save a Demon is the first book in the Daughter of Eve series. If you like young, fresh urban fantasy with a kickass heroine, lots of goofy comedy, and a complicated paranormal romance, then you’ll love this new page-turner by award-winning author J.D. Brown.
"Rich characters, fast pacing, and hilarious hits of humor make this series starter an absolute winner. I cannot recommend it highly enough!" -- Darynda Jones, New York Times Bestselling author of the Charley Davidson series.

Fazit: Für alle, die gerne spannende Bücher mit interessanten Fantasy-Elementen lesen, wirklich lesenswert.
The author went to great lengths to make the protagonist as unlikeable and straight up annoying as possible.
While some of her actions (while still annoying me to no end) were understandable, most of them were not, but just so very irrational.
While the manner of speaking (meaning the protagonist) may be supposed to be witty with a bit of snark, to me it evoked the desire to shake some sense the protagonist (rather violently).
Additionally the protagonist seems to have strange priorities. Survival seems not at all important to her, her only motivations seem to be "hot guys" and disagreeing just to not let the other party be right (and not only in case of a demon where certain waryness may be warranted, but also when the other party involves her grandmother or her best friend).
The demon is not much better written and seems to suffer from some sort of mood-swings.
In one moment he clearly antagonises someone he sees as friend (the hell is up with that - forgive the pun) then turns to begging and then straight to insults.
This is the sort of negotiating tactic you'd expect from a pre-teen or an idiot. But from a centuries old higher demon? Who are renown for their intelligence and their patience "playing the long game" ?
It makes as little sense ad the previously mentioned protagonist.
All in all: 1.5/10. The idea seems good, bit cliché but good. The execution was terrible.
