Product Description

"A must read for military romance fans and fans of my Navy Seals! Highly recommended!" Suzanne Brockmann, New York Times bestselling author

With 7.5 tons of World Trade Center steel melted into her bow, what if there are more souls aboard the USS New York than the sailors and Marines stationed there? And what if those souls can help the troops defeat al-Qaeda this time?

When Gwyn Pritchard reports aboard the USS New York, she’s the only person who sees 9/11 spirits roaming the decks. As the sole survivor of an IED blast, Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Adam Connor is wrestling with his own haunted past, but when he learns Gwyn is seeing ghosts aboard their ship, he becomes her confidant...and her lover.

Passions rise to fever pitch when the New York rushes to liberate hostages in North Africa. Can the spirits provide the right intelligence for the Marines to save the prisoners? Can Gwyn help the ghosts move on to the light? And can Adam and Gwyn find the love they’ve searched the world over for?

Book 3 of the “Love in the Fleet” Series, which includes: FORGET ME NOT, FORGIVE AND FORGET, NEVER FORGET and UNFORGETTABLE

Never Forget draws the reader in and never lets go. It’s a BIG package that delivers BIG stories with characters you’ll love. A can’t-put-down read from one of my new favorite go-to storytellers!” Rita Clay Estrada, Bestselling Author

“After reading Never Forget, all I can say is Wow! At times the tears will flow as the aftermath and heartbreak of 9/11 are revisited with touching moments as well as joy-filled ones. For beautifully written, memorable military romances, Heather Ashby has quickly become my go-to author! 9/11 ghosts on a ship, terrorists and two steamy romances. This book made me feel like I was really on the USS New York!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hold onto your hats 13 September 2014

Never Forget is a unique concept I don't think I've ever seen in a romance novel. However, the author's execution of the story is brilliant.
Frank "Nick" Nikolopoulos (I hope I spelled that right - it's Greek to me), a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, has been assigned to a British ship for one year, the HMS Atlantic, when he's introduced to the sexiest woman he's ever seen. Sparks fly. Unfortunately, Trudy happens to be Nick's assistant engineer and is strictly off-limits. We know right there where that relationship is headed, but getting there is still a roller-coaster ride of a page-turner.
Meanwhile, there's plenty of action on the other side of the ocean aboard the USS New York, an amphibious assault ship with a hull fashioned out of something like seven and a half tons of smelted steel rescued from the twin towers after 9/11. The exchange of an officer from the British ship to the USS New York sets up yet another budding romance between Royal Navy Lieutenant Gwyn Pritchard, and gunnery sergeant "Gunny Connor." Despite their attempts to avoid each other, they are constantly thrown together because aboard this ship the population isn't restricted to living beings, and Gwyn can see the ghosts.
Hold onto your hat, because things are going to get complicated as the story unfolds and spirits wander throughout the ship, taking action on their own as disaster strikes.
Brava to Ms. Ashby for daring to write such a memorable and touching story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally and wonderfully OUTside of the box 23 September 2014

Totally and wonderfully OUTside of the box. This book has it all, sexy military guys and gals, intrigue where and when you least expect it and spirits determined to get their own back. Ashby is so spot on with her Yanks and their cousins across the pond, she's either had a former life as a Brit or she's got great coaching. It was fun and interesting seeing into the inner workings of a military warship both British and American and the differences in officer/enlisted relations. I was already enjoying the book when I thought it was just a romance with the twist of an officer exchange program, but then the action heated up and it became an action story as well. Like I said, this book has it all, including some really fun and spicy sex. And then there were those souls not on the USS New York's official roster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Forget - a book I won't forget 19 September 2014

Oh, I have to read the other 3 books (when I can that is) I cried, I laughed and I winced at times. Got the military stuff - right on!
The story line about 9/11 and how the New York was crafted from re-formed steel from the twin towers and in it the ghosts of some of those lost that day. Wow, it carried a punch and a half. The reasons many of them enlisted after that day and their lives today - let's just say, I HAVE to read the other 3 books now. I didn't want to quit reading, I just wanted it to go on and on and finish all the stories in one book... I know, greedy, huh? You don't want to put the book down and yet... you almost have to because of the emotion it carries. Loved the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO SATISFYING ON SO MANY LEVELS 28 September 2014

This was such a sleeper. It was so satisfying on so many levels. We have two love stories threaded through a patriotic/heroic ghost story. Where to begin. The US Navy and Her Majesty's Royal Navy are swapping Officer/Engineers. Add to the story, the USS New York is forged in steel with material from the twin towers leveled on 9/11/2001 and infused with the spirits from that disaster. Put to sea on a counter terrorist mission that is bound to be extraordinary. If you are at all sentimental and/or patriotic this will inspire.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book! 15 September 2014

Another home run from Heather. Combine the U. S. Navy, U. S. Marines, the British Navy and the USS New York which is a battleship using materials from Ground Zero and you have a compelling and fascinating read that couldn't have been released at a more significant time - the anniversary of 9/11. I really enjoyed it and will be looking forward to the next book in the series.
