Although I have read Beryl Kingston's work in the past I have not done so since 1998 and I do not have any particular recollections of them! So I am sure that if this had not been a Transita publication I would not have shown any interest.
This was just another forgettable novel, one of just a few of the Transita titles that I have been unimpressed with. This made no impact on me what so ever, it is just another run of the mill modern and predictable slushy romance. Recently widowed at a fairly young age the protagonist is making a new life for herself, not behaving at all like the mother her daughters are used to having around. They are used to having their mother there for them, especially now she is about to become a grandmother. A contemporary dilemma dealt with in a story that is Ok for a curl up by the fire type of read, far from demanding.
