Product Description

From bestselling author Kate Canterbary comes a sexy new standalone from the Walsh family. Are you ready to fall in love with some rule-breakers?

They liked to call me names. Manwhore. Slut. Player. But I make wrong look so right…
This is the third book in The Walsh Series, though it reads as a stand-alone novel with characters from the first two books making appearances.

He's a flawed perfectionist…
I can read women better than any blueprint. I understand their thoughts and feelings, their secret desires and insecurities, and I know how to get rid of them once I get off.

But all bets are off when Tiel Desai slams into my life. She redefines what it means to be friends, and she makes it sound like the filthiest thing I've ever heard.

I can't read the gorgeous conservatory-trained violinist, but she's the only one keeping me from shattering by small degrees, and I can't let her go.

She's wildly independent…
My past—and New Jersey—are far behind me, and now my life is blissfully full of music: playing, teaching, and lecturing, and scouring Boston's underground scene with an annoyingly beautiful, troubled, tattooed architect.

I'm defenseless against his rooftop kisses, our nearly naked dance parties, the snuggletimes that turn into sexytimes, and his deep, demanding voice.

I have Sam Walsh stuck in my head like a song on repeat, and I'm happy pretending history won't catch up with me.

The one thing they have in common is a rock-solid disregard for the rules.
They find more in each other than they ever realized they were missing, but they might have to fall apart before they can come together.

It's the wrongs that make the rights come to life.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sam deserves better!!! 19 March 2017
By glitter girl - Published on

I have to say that I almost didn't finish this book. Don't get me wrong I love Sam but I did not like Tiel. She was most definitely not good enough for Sam. She was self-centered overly jealous and downright mean and unreasonable. I mean come on she's not the only one who has gotten dealt a bad hand in life. But she didn't take that into consideration. She didn't focus on the man that Sam was and becoming. Instead she focused on who he once was and kept throwing it in his face time and time again. As hard as it is to believe at times people do change. And it's obvious he did. But she refused to see that. If she would have just talked to him she would have known that. She expected him to give her things that she didn't give him. She seemed to have forgotten that a relationship is give and take. She didn't give but she sure as heck took. I find it at atrocious that she treated his family the way she did. She knew how important they were to Sam but she didn't even try. I am appalled at how she treated Lauren and Andy and I don't think Sam should have given her a pass. It seemed that he gave her a lot of passes. As for the misinterpreted kiss with Magnolia yeah I would have been upset but it was quickly obvious that it was a mistake. Everyone tried to tell her that but she refused to listen. She was horrible to Sam and didn't even try to understand. As usual it was automatically Sam's Fault. In the End Sam was the one apologizing for every single thing and instead of Tiel owning her mistakes she let Sam continue to think it was all his fault. She even realized at one point that she was the one who f***ed up but did nothing to try and fix it. During the meeting with Shannon she was a smart a** and of course wrapped up in herself. If I would have been Shannon I would have shown her why they called her the Black Widow. At the end when Tiel said to herself that she knew how to love Sam it really ticked me off. She had no clue how to love him and didn't even try. Sam deserves a happy ending but I don't know why it had to be with Tiel that he wanted it with. I know that there is another book about them and I'm hoping that by the end of it I feel better about Sam's decisions. I hope he gets everything he deserves and wants and more and if that's Tiel then I hope it works out and he is more than happy. I guess we'll see.

* the only reason I finished this book is because I love all the Walsh siblings and because I didn't want to miss something important with them as they are so interconnected with each other *

5.0 out of 5 stars bohemian and completely happy in her own little beautiful 4 February 2017

Samuel Walsh is a difficult man to fathom. Living up to his expectations and his perfectionism and all of his idiosyncrasies would be daunting for the average person. But Tiel is not your average woman. She is quirky, bohemian and completely happy in her own little beautiful, musical world. The ability of these two to connect on every available level is absolutely amazing and just listening (or reading) their conversations throws you into their world. Same has the innate ability to take Tiel's mind away from where she sinking with some moves that most of us would love to see in our lifetimes. Sam has issues....and has made his life a certain way to deal (or not deal) with those issues. Tiel turns his life upside down...and it's the best thing that could have happened to both of them...or is it?

5.0 out of 5 stars Walsh Brothers 7 February 2017

Each book I've read so far is unique. Coming from a horrific family background each brother has his own issues that they deal with after the death of their mother and the abusive father. The love. Of a good woman makes it worth what they went through to find their soul mate. I loved each book so far for different reasons. I can't wait to read about the sisters. You will love this series. It's worth paying for. If you haven't read the series buy all 6 at once. You won't want to stop reading about this family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just gets better! 18 January 2017

I am quickly becoming obsessive with this series. I started the series because I wanted to find a series that had as many audio companions as I could get my hands on. This series has audio companions for 3/4 of them and it's some of the best audio I've listened to. They've paired the narrators so well and both voices are wonderful to listen to!

Now to the book! Tiel is one of my favorite characters yet in this series! From the moment she was bee bopping around in the elevator I knew she was a character I would love. And the more that Sam tolerated her they quickly became my favorite due! Tiel is so quirky and man is she smart! I love that she is a musician and that she doesn't realize just how spectacular she really is. But Sam notices, and I love that about him. He's the same way though, he is this critically acclaimed Environmental Architect, yet he is so humble. These things helped make them so perfect for each other, that and how opposite of personalities they had. She is so bubbly and always moving, and he was so stoic and calm. They really helped to balance each other out.

Now their relationship was really slow moving, each of them having no idea what the other felt. It was like watching a pot of water start to boil! They were just simmering for a little bit and then you saw the chemistry start to bubble, until FINALLY it started to become a rolling boil! That is how their love was for me. Their story was a good bit different than the others because they were intentionally friends, not two who tried to stay away from each other or two that worked together but were faking it. They truly had no clue how the other felt about each other. Another thing about this book was the dynamic of the family changing. As each of the siblings started to pair off their involvement in each others lives started to drift some. Can't wait to dig in to another Walsh book!
5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars - One of my favorite series! 19 April 2015

I love this series and the Walsh family from Boston. Sam's story was wonderful, although a bit rushed at the end. I recommend starting with book 1 for anyone who loves contemporary romance. These characters feel very real and the writing is great. I would equate my love for these books with that of my obsession with Penny Reid's so if you are familiar and a fan of hers, then you will definitely enjoy Canterbary's. It's really the highest compliment I can give to this series. I think about these characters long after I'm finished reading their stories and that rarely happens for me.

p.s. to Kate Canterbary - I'm disappointed with your choice of cover changes. Admittedly, the covers for the first two books might have been too "sweet" for the series, but they were a far better choice than the new ones. Yes, sex sells and I get what you're trying to accomplish, but these do not fit the characters or their stories in any way. The Necessary Restorations image is better suited for more erotic books (and for the record, I have no problem with those types of books, but The Walsh Series isn't erotica). Tiel looks trashy and too made up and nothing in that image portrays Sam to me. There are so many images that would have suited this series better. Your books are too good to have such a disconnect with their covers, which are important in gaining readers. My intention isn't to offend you, but to offer constructive criticism in order to further your sales. I look forward to reading Shannon's story!
