This book did bring the SEALs together to try to conclude the mystery from the first book throughout the rest, but falled short for me. I thought they were supposed to find and bring down the master of the human trafficking ring. Didn't happen.
The "love story" between Montana Raines and Kate went the same route as all romance novels and was entertaining to read. He's a country boy with a strong sense of right and wrong, a true gentleman, treats Kate as an equal. Kate is trying to prove herself and get off desk duty with the FBI after a disastrous love affair with a double agent. She's attracted to Montana from the beginning, whereas he is written as not. They don't take love to have sex and continue to work together.
Where this story fell apart for me were all the holes that an epilogue from the author would have closed it all up. The head of SOS: what happened to him? What's the future of these 4 SEALs? Sure, each thought and talked about what they "wanted" to do, but I felt left hanging with not seeing their futures. Did they stay with each other or were there dangerous jobs too much? If they stayed together; how? Where? A couple of these books had the reader leaning toward the SEALs becoming part of SOS. Did that ever happen?
For fast action and adventure, this is a good book. To wrap up the series? Not so much.
