A mountain bike kind of a ride...

Love, love, love it! Asher and Eve can rival any couple with their beautifully innocent love story.

Having brought up in a sheltered life, Eve is at a crossroad in her life, wanting to experience everything that college life has to offer while keeping whatever faith she has left. Asher is also at a crossroads, tired of the bad-boy/playboy lifestyle but unwilling to get to close to anyone for them to know the real him. They meet, sparks and curiosity flies and before you realise it, you are at the front seat of a love story unravelling that is so sweet and beautiful. But it's not all hearts and roses for these two as they try to overcome a threat to their story and test their own faith and their strength as individuals and as a couple.

We see glimpses of the group of friends and so glad that Ethan and Abby's story continues here as well. As always, K.M. Neuhold never disappoints...

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Eve has been sheltered all her life by her church going parents. She has been home schooled up until the age of 18 and has never experienced any of the trials and tribulations that come along with growing up and experiencing life.

Asher on the other hand has had a hard life, continually beaten down by snide remarks that he is no good. He portrays the bad boy image. Tattoos, piercings etc.

After deciding to leave home, to go to college, Nikki befriends Eve and introduces her to the "group" including Asher and along the way she also meet Brahm. Everyone bands together to help Eve discover what the real world is like and how to deal with certain situations.

While K M Neuhold creates an excellent storyline, she brings to the surface that you should never judge a book by its cover, so to speak ( I am not talking about the actual cover of the book). Everyone can have a nasty side and it is when push comes to shove, that is when it is revealed.
I loved reading this book and will definitely read more from K M Neuhold

I so loved this book! I had been taking a break from romance as it was all getting a bit samey, but I picked this up as a book group read and I am really glad I did! Eve is just starting college after a leaving a very religious and sheltered upbringing and is struggling to fit in with the lifestyle until she meets Asher. With the help of Asher and his group of friends she finally is able to find herself and Asher is able to guide her through everything from her first kiss to well….you know ;) So often recently, sex in books is really in your face and unnecessarily crude, however this author has confidence in her writing and is able to communicate these scenes without that and in a way that is detailed and very very hot! I loved Eve and Asher’s relationship so much, things happened at the right pace and it was just wonderful to read. The side characters had depth and really made you feel like they were a group of friends you would be lucky to have. Even though this is book 2 in the series, it’s completely standalone although I will definitely be reading more of this author!

I hadn't read the first book in this series, or anything else by this author for that matter, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when the book came up in our book club. I thought it would be kind of cliche, given the title, the cover and the blurb, but I was pleasantly surprised to be proven completely wrong. This book is a lot deeper than you expect.

On the surface it's a coming of age college story about a guy and a girl from different worlds who fall for each other. So far so "Uptown Girl". You just have to look behind what's on the surface to really see the story here. It's a story about struggling with identity, learning how to step outside the box people put you in and learning that it doesn't matter what people think because they don't know you. It's a story about body image, about parental control, about wanting to believe in God without really understanding how to live in a way that makes both you and the angels happy. It's a life lesson in how you shouldn't judge someone for the way that they look.

Deeper than that, it takes a wander through some of the issues of domestic abuse, the way you let yourself get drawn in, the way you justify irrational actions because you think it's what your parents would want or what the world thinks you should be settling for.

The book perfectly captures that struggle of every person who has to make that decision between what they know is right in their heart and what their friends think they should do. It's not easy to go against the grain, particularly when it's against people you like and respect, but sometimes you have to trust your own judgement.

In terms of the writing, there are a lot of spelling mistakes throughout the book, so if poor copy editing is an issue for you, be prepared. That said, the style is very engaging and easily absorbing. The characters are well rounded and really likeable. Especially Asher. There were several occasions I laughed out loud reading his awful jokes (my favourite was the one about the particle physics and the hadron) and I just loved the concept of his galaxy tattoo.

I would recommend this for anyone that's ever been unconventional, the people that don't fit the stereotypes and those that just like to challenge public perception. It's a sweet read, perfect for YA and NA audiences or someone older just looking for a beach read for the summer.

Enjoyed this story. I loved Asher, the tattooed but secretly hard working and serious student, and I felt for Eve, the inexperienced but brave young woman trying to come to terms with the real world. I also thought the 'villain' was most horribly, and realistically, creepy. Are there really people like that out there? It creeps me out to realise they most likely do exist. This story made me want to go back to college!
