5.0 out of 5 stars The Tulanes #4 - Ethan
By Rosie on 17 June 2021
Ethan and Megan's story is, at times, painful and complex.
Megan has been on the run from her violent ex, ever since she discovered he was out of prison. Running from one state to another, sleeping in her car and getting by while virtually broke. When she turns up at her sister Jenn's place in Beauty, Tennessee, she is ill and about to collapse.
Jenn's brother in law Dr Ethan Tulane sees Megan an at once he wants to help her. Despite having many issues of his own to deal with right now, he takes Megan into his home, as Jenn won't have her.
There is a terrible misunderstanding between the sisters that won't resolve until Megan is well and Jenn will stop and listen.
Ethan did a stint in Niger with Doctors Without Borders and following a tragedy there, he took a five year old boy, Simon home to the US and adopted him. But Simon is badly traumatised and the only person he feels close to is Megan. And so as Megan recovers, she begins to care for Simon.
The slow building of a little family and the development of relationships begins to heal everyone.
Then Megan sees her ex on the street in town and decides to run ...
