I have been waiting for season 17 to come out on DVD I am a big fan of NCIS so when I got the item and saw it was region 1 I was very disappointed cause it dose not say a thing about what region it is and as everyone knows in this country it is region 2 so it should have something saying what region it is so you know before you send for the item

The product description omitted the DVD region, but being on the Amazon.co.UK site, it is reasonable to assume that the product is region 2 suitable for the UK. The DVD arrived as a region 1, suitable for the NTSC system used in the US. Vitally important the seller and Amazon clearly identify the region when there are multiple incompatible systems in operation.

Choose seller carefully if you are R2

there are a lot of reviews on this one bundled together from a few different sellers some saying that they got a disk that was unplayable and others having a perfect transaction. I bought this in good faith then contacted the seller direct to make certain that it would play on my basic R2 uk player, and they got back to me immediately to explain that it certainly would. I had mentioned some of the reviews to them and they said that if you are making a purchase do the following:
1) check the seller feedback before you buy as this will reflect customer experience and whether they are selling R1 dvd.
2) Make the purchase then contact the seller to make sure the item will play on your player. A good seller will get back to you the same day to reassure you. If this does not happen, cancel the order and choose another seller.

As far as the disks go - they are Australian and coded for R2 (uk) and R4 (Oz) and work perfectly on an english basid dvd player with no faults at all and no problems with sound or menus or anything else.

The season is a good one, falling easily into the stride with the direct follow on from last season and an explosive start. If you love NCIS then this is certainly for you! Long may it continue.

Had so many previous BAD experiences of receiving non-Region 2 DVDs, that I am writing this review BEFORE I even open the shrink wrap on the DVD.

Come on Amazon, we’re the UK, and we’re Region 2!

No, I did not spot the fine print before ordering. I shouldn’t have to. Amazon.co.uk should ONLY be selling UK compatible products (whatever the product is).

If I end up returning this item because it will NOT play, (whether or not I get a full refund), then my ‘loyalty’ to Amazon will be severely cut short!

So, caution UK buyers... Take a look at the label that’s been added, but NOT in the advertised photo.
