This is an amazingly written first book in the series. The plot is full of emotional moments, and the characters are wonderfully crafted with the necessary strength to overcome their obstacles. This is a great book that will suit anybody who loves steamy historical romances that have plenty of intrigue.

Just because one throws Earls, Marquees and Dukes into a story does not make it Regency this is more about debauchery than anything else, not in the least bit realistic or English!

Complete and utter nonsense. Just call it a fairytale and get on with it. It's not a Regency novel. It's nothing but a story based on an idea and then the author decided to set the story during the Regency, in a village presumably in the English countryside, with the protagonists supposedly of the British aristocracy. Not even close.
My Dashing Duke was a quick read, but set in a time, where certain norms of behaviour were expected. At least that is important for me. I want to lose myself in a tale about another time and place. Failure to follow the rules of the period, pull me out of the story, whether it is in the behaviour of the protagonists, or the way they speak. A heroine saying, "Get it?" instead of, "Is that clear?" or "Do you understand?" pulls me out of the story immediately. I also require my Hero, in this case a Duke, to behave with more dignity, to be able to take charge of situations, and have more self control. Neither do I expect my heroine to be abandoned by her Aunt guardian, with a man alone. Neither do I expect to read about a Butler, who is more concerned about the welfare of the young ladies of the house, than their guardian. The cooking debacles added a bit of humour, but again rather out of keeping for the period. Worse was the sex, indulged in within a day or two of meeting the duke. The story flowed, and the plot was interesting, but there was too much out of keeping with the period, to satisfy me. I see many others really enjoyed this book, so I suggest it may just my preferences that were upset!
I love these two authors works, so I tried to discern who did write what but I am not good enough for that. Still it is a lovely story with a Christmas spirit in it. Noelle (perfectly named as it is the feminine version of the first name Noel, also meaning Christmas in French.) is a sweet nurturing young miss. When she lands a peer at her new home’s doorstep, she sees a way out to their family’s conundrum but never expected a marriage of convenience’s proposal. Yet the more she thinks about it, the more it is the answer to her fear of love. After witnessing her father becoming a shell of his own self after her mother’s passing, she thinks avoiding love is self preservation. Dash to avoid a bunch of matchmaking mamas presents himself under one of his lesser title, never expecting to be caught unaware. He sees him outside of his title as unworthy of love, his mother having crushed any crumb he might feel loved. So when the little fairy who rescued him from his tumble in snow accept under his baron title his marriage proposal, he feel he is on the right path. But what about her reaction when his lofty title is revealed. Will he trust himself to be enough...
A cute read with a naughty side. 4 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the authors, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
