I love these books. All three of them. Nothing like a really good read on a lazy Sunday afternoon. One that keeps you enthralled with the story and characters, an easy read with a great story. All three of these books fill that bill quite nicely.
I finished Murder Under a Bad Moon by Abigail Keam. Another five star story by a very talented lady. I love Mona Moon. She's a feisty, silver-haired woman who's ahead of her time. And as is typical in this state, even today, she's a woman who ruffles feathers and upsets the status quo in a "good old boy's" network. She does with bravery and class. I love her dearly.
In 'Bad Moon', Mona is unjustly and falsely accused of murdering a man with whom she's had bad blood in the past. A man that no one liked, with myriad suspects who could have done the deed. Mona decides that she needs to clear her name by uncovering the name of the person(s) who are guilty.
The story is brilliant, as always. Slowly doling out the clues while plunging into the day to day world of the lady in question. The characters are so real, so lively. You can't help but like them. Even the 'villains' of the books will have something that keeps them from being moustache twirling and nasty. They're hardly caricatures. I love how Ms. Keam weaves the story in and around the actual history of the place and time. Nothing boring about that.
I hope the lady writes more of these mysteries. I hope she gives us more Mona Moon. And I can't wait to read her Josiah Reynolds series. Abigail Keam has a fan for life.
