Product Description

Romance novelist Stacey Holland doesn’t believe in love; marriage to a manipulator taught her as much. So she hides away in her fictional world, penning the perfect romance, intertwining the perfect crime. Excitement is for her books – worlds where the mortality of her characters is governed by a tap on her keyboard and the heroine always gets her happy ever after.
Homicide detective Chase Durant’s cases are real and gritty and one wrong move could be his last. The force is his life – he doesn’t have room for more. Love and relationships hold no place for a man whose fate is predetermined by the genetic roll of a dice. With uncertainty on the horizon, he won’t promise a future he can’t guarantee.
Then a sadistic killer breathes Stacey’s gruesome murders to life and the pair are thrown together in a sick game of murder and lies.
When tempers flare, and the murders get personal, can author and detective fight their growing attraction all-the-while fighting the killer determined to destroy them both?

Murder Most Unusual is a seductive romantic suspense set in Melbourne, Australia, written by Michelle Somers, award-winning author of Lethal in Love.

Murder Most Unusual by Michelle Somers is a romantic suspense read.
When the line between fact and fiction is blurred, a sadist killer is born.
Stacey Holland is a author who research her books to make sure she gets it right. Chase Durant is a detective. Someone is copying Stacey book and murdering people exactly as her book. Will Chase catch the murderer or will he kill again.
Absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. I was hooked from page one. I loved Stacey and Chase. Loved how they were together. Their attitude towards one another. I was in fits. And Stacey was clumsy over Chase.
I loved the ending too. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from tbc on fb.

Wicked murders, witty one-liners and totally satisfying romance. Murder Most Unusual in the style of Murder She Wrote, only a whole lot scarier with romance thrown in. A totally entertaining read that mixed bone-chilling, thrilling murder with sweet, subtle, sexy romance. Genius writing from the pen of up and coming author, Michelle Somers.
Full of twists and turns in revealing the villian, the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat while the tug of attraction and a sense of humour delivers a welcome relief from the intensity of the plot exactly when you need it. I wonder what this author's wicked mind will deliver next?

Stacey Holland writes books for a living and she researches the murders and disposals of the bodies by acting them out with a mannequin sometimes in the dead of night, it seems someone else is trying out the murders too but with real bodies . Chase Durant is the homicide detective tasked to find the killer and he keeps bumping into Stacey literally as she seems to be so clumsy. I did have some chuckles at their meeting and yet there was a serious side and the killer must be found. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters and also the red herrings that were scattered throughout the book. All in all a very enjoyable read.
Thank you to TBConFacebook and the author for the copy of the book.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is one Fabulous Romantic Suspense 7 February 2017

WOW this is a fabulous romantic suspense story a book that will keep you guessing till very close to the end my mind was jumping around with trying to work out who the killer was turning the pages and not getting anything done at home I had such a hard time putting it down. So I recommend that you give yourself some time and sit back and enjoy this one it is a book to really sink your mind into so much going on and such a sensual romance between heroine author Stacey Holland and hero homicide detective Chase Durant and so many fabulous characters.

Stacey is a romance author an award winning author who puts so much into her stories she goes to great lengths to make sure that everything works the way it should she is a fun person but does not date due to her past and she has a bit to get over she will never be pushed around again all her pets are just the best Midnight and Cuddles but when she contacts detective Durant for some help with her story well let’s just say that life as Stacey knows it is going to be turned completely upside down and murders are taking place that seem very close to her stories.

Chase loves his job and is doing everything he can to catch the serial killer who is lose in the city of Melbourne but there are a lot of similarities with these murders to MS Holland’s stories and he aims to find out what is going one needless to say that brings them very close together and then the killer is out to get them both talk about edge of your seat. Chase feels the spark between him and Stacey but Chase has a few worries that hold him back and of course Stacey doesn’t date where is this journey to catch a killer going to lead them?

This story has everything that a fabulous romantic suspense should have with a dose of humour thrown in as well I loved Stacey and Chase and their sensual partnership as they do what they can to catch a sadistic psychopath, they both have so much going on with their lives and MS Somers has bought them and their feelings to life on the pages you will be cheering them on and yelling when danger Is near. We met Chase in MS Somers first book Lethal in Love and it was great seeing him get his HEA with just the right person for him in Stacey author extraordinaire. Thank you MS Somers for a fabulous story.
5.0 out of 5 stars A heart-pounding thriller 7 February 2017

Murder Most Unusual by Michelle Somers was gripping, hair-raising and spine-chilling. My heart is still pumping wildly and my hairs are still on end, and the killer, oh oh oh...he scared the freakin' crap out of me and more so when he was on the scene. I was always so grateful for the romance scenes which soothed and settled me in-between the terror. I LOVED this! Was totally hooked from the first line until the last!!! The Unexpected twists and turns had me dropping my jaw quite a few times. Very impressive. I read the second half of this book in one sitting because I could not put
this down.

Stacey Holland is one cool heroine who writes crime thrillers and enacts the crimes she writes about. Chase Durant is one hot detective looking for a serial killer. When Stacey meets Chase from that moment on their banter is a scream - I had some majorly good laughs. It wasn't all smooth sailing and each with their own problems kept them from getting too close but it was hard to miss the attraction that was bubbling between them.
Fantastic central characters and a fab romance that the readers will fall in love with.
Ooh, I adored Stacey's friend Shazz - a great friend to have in your corner.

Highly recommended.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Murder Mystery 16 February 2017

Set in Australia, the novel surprisingly includes a good dose of humor among all the chilling murders and plot suspense.

Romance novelist Stacey Holland hides herself away in her own fictional world, writing romantic crime, no less. She enjoys having the control to create happily-ever-after endings in her novels, something she doesn't feel she can do in her own life. In her personal life, Stacey has been burned and therefore no longer believes in real love. It seems despite her troubles in love, Stacey is comfortable with life, that is, until a killer "breathes Stacey's gruesome murders to life". She is tossed into a real world of lies and murders. With the help of a detective named Chase Durant, Stacey struggles to catch the killer before the killer gets to both of them.

Michelle Somers writes an intriguing story in Murder Most Unusual. If you enjoy murder mysteries with a mix of humor and romance, pick up her book as your next read!

4.0 out of 5 stars This was a beautifully written murder mystery with some engaging characters at times 15 February 2017

This is a well-written romantic murder mystery with some interesting characters, a clever plot and some chilling murders. The deviousness of the killer and the disregard for the victims is very well done, as was the ability by the author in capturing the Australian feel in the setting.

However compared to the first book I was a little disappointed. Chase as a character for instance, behaved in ways that didn't really make sense for a police officer and a good one, an impression gained in the first novel. Stacey showed very little regard for police procedures and Chase's position. I know it was meant to add to the tension between the leads and appreciate that. The crime however was murder, a particularly nasty murder and at times the continual misunderstandings between Chase and Stacey slowed the pace down.

Over all the novel had a good degree of hotness and humour, and some great dialogue. The author has real style and talent and I look forward to what may come next.
