5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it. 8 June 2016

This was a great cozy full of surprises and well-developed characters.
I love Emma and Owen. I wish their relationship would move forward faster and have more scenes between them.
I didn't like that much the second book of the series - I loved the first - and I'm so glad I didn't pass on this one.
Great mystery and although I suspected the culprit it was so well done and believable.
I'm looking forward to the next installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange Mystery 6 February 2017

After a bad break up, Emma goes back to her hometown and starts to help her old friend, Mervyn. He is a nerdy guy from her high school class who has made it big as a software company owner. Emma, a party planner, throws him a party and invites their classmates to show them his success, but at the party his life coach is killed. Emma decides she is going to help him find out who the killer is. All their classmates and friends have changed and all seem suspicious for various reasons. The characters are interesting and the story has a surprise ending, even though the mystery was strange.

Had a great time unraveling this hometown murder. Lots of suspects, people changing, memories from high school and not enough communication? Loved this book!
3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Cozy Mystery 2 January 2017

This was a nice read. The female protagonist, Emma, is engaging and likable, though she doesn't solve the mystery so much as stumble into the middle of it. My criticism is that, aside from Emma, there is little true character development. Most of the players seem like cardboard cutouts or exaggerated caricatures. Still, the story was readable and entertaining, and that is the point, isn't it?

This "cozy" book drew me in and never let me go until hours later when I reached the surprising end. The characters came to life and were woven through the story in such a way that keeping track of them was not difficult. This well written and exciting whodunit makes me want to read more of the author’s books.
