Murder in a Different Place: A Libby Sarjeant Murder Mystery (A Libby Sarjeant Murder Mystery Series Book 13) Kindle Edition
'With fascinating characters and an intriguing plot, this is a real page turner' KATIE FFORDE praise for the series
An addictive and unputdownable crime mystery novel perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Faith Martin, J.R. Ellis, LJ Ross, Miss Marple and Midsummer Murders!
Lesley Cookman's bestselling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its thirteenth instalment!
Libby and the gang visit the Isle of Wight for the funeral of an old friend, whose death is (for once) entirely un-suspicious.
Some elderly cousins of the deceased do however have an unexplained death in the family. Libby's best friend Harry seems to be somehow involved, and Libby is therefore determined to get to the bottom of the situation, and valiantly ignores the growing reluctance of the elderly cousins to help as she investigates.
But will she get to the bottom of it, or will the cousins' resistance prove too much?
And why are they even resisting in the first place?

About the Author
Like many authors, Lesley started writing stories as a child. After a checquered beginning, including jobs as varied as actor, model, cabin crew and nightclub DJ, she fell into feature writing for publications including Business Matters, Which Computer and Poultry Farmers Weekly.
She progressed to short stories for the vibrant Women's magazine market and, following a Master's Degree where she met her publisher, she turned to her first literary love of Traditional British Mysteries. The Libby Sarjeant series is still going strong, and has been joined by The Alexandrians, an Edwardian mystery series.
Lesley also continues to work with her local theatre, which often finds its way into her books.

I enjoyed the change of location and the addition of characters as well as the war references. Even though I am neither an am dram or history enthusiast, these elements always add interest to Lesley Cook man's books and this one is no different. I am just sad I have come to the end. Hurry up and write another for me Lesley PLEASE!
Perfect for whiling away the hours on your Kindle, best accompanied with a cup of tea in a proper cup and saucer, made in a pot, just as Libby and Fran would like it.
It soon becomes clear that the three elderly cousins have an ulterior motive in asking them to stay but they don't seem willing to help with information. As Harry seems to be involved somehow, Libby wants to find out what is going on in spite of the outright hostility from the three ladies.
Everyone agrees they will forget all about it when they return home but somehow the mystery - which includes Harry's background - keeps coming back to haunt them even when they're back in Kent.
I thought this book was probably one of the best in a good series. The plot as ever has lots of ramifications and I like the way the author weaves them all together to make a satisfying whole. I feel as though I have really got to know the series characters and it is like meeting old friends to read the next book in the series. I recommend this book and this series to anyone who likes crime stories with little on the page violence and bad language and likeable characters.
This is the 13th in the Libby series – and I’ve read and enjoyed them all. Lesley Cookman certainly hasn’t disappointed with the latest adventures of Libby and her friends. I just couldn’t put the book down, and as I have done with the other Libby books, read it in 2 or 3 sittings. Although the books can be read out of sequence, I do recommend reading them in order to get the most out of them. The characters have developed since the first book, and so has the writing - I’ve enjoyed the journey immensely – so much so I plan to re-read them all as a treat to myself this summer! I do wish I liked tea as much as Libby does (can’t stand the stuff) but I do like fresh coffee, and love all the talk of food and wine being a bit of a foodie myself!
Libby collects friends with each story, adding them to her group of friends, such is the warmth that flows through each book. Whilst reading I too feel part of that inner circle of Libby’s – she and her friends leap out of the pages of the book and surround me with their warmth. I adore them all – and can’t wait for the next book! Keep on writing please Lesley Cookman!
It was great to find out more about Libby's friend Harry and to have the friends visit the Isle of Wight to solve a mystery/murder.
All the characters in Lesley's books are so believable which makes the books so realistic even though Libby does have a habit of stumbling upon Murders!
I can't rate this book or the others in the series highly enough. Thank you Lesley for an excellent series and how am I going to contain myself till October when the next one is released?! x
