This wonderful series is based in Gosport where three friends Pixie, Emily and of course, the gorgeous Rita are working hard in a munitions factory building bombs to help the war effort. These three girls are like family to each other and as we are told each of their stories as a reader you will soon realise their home life is not so perfect yet they stand by each other through thick and thin.
Pixie is the main character for me and as she tells her own story, she is one girl I know I would have loved to have in my life as she would do anything for those she cares about. She works hard yet she still has time to enjoy herself, and as I followed her story I was soon involved in her life and those friends she cares so much about, but Pixie's mother has her own problems and it is only her that can change her life if she really wants back into the life of her loved ones once again.
This is one wonderful book where I enjoyed each page of this great storyline, and for one main reason, the characters were so believable, as their hearts were broken while still trying to stand up to Hitler and his bullies who pounded the South coast with bombs.
I am happy to recommend The Munitions Girls written by the very talented Rosie Archer as a brilliant read filled with atmosphere and courage throughout.
It was romantic realistic adorable funny heartwarming
I loved pixie her life was hard she fell for cal but Bob was my man he was caring kind and open minded
It's set during the Second World War so there's a lot of historical fact about the entertainment of the time and what was generally thought of single mothers
I can't wait for the follow up more please Rosie archer
