Product Description

Phoebe wonders why her mummies aren't married.

With her trusty sidekick, Biscuit the cat, she plans a big surprise wedding. Soon, the whole town is in on it and they are all coming along!

But what about You-Know-Who?

This gorgeous children's picture book tells a timeless tale about a little girl planning a big surprise - a wedding - for her parents, but with a contemporary twist as her parents are both women. With a child's innocence, the little girl, Phoebe, doesn't understand the obstacles and can't see prejudice. She soon has everyone on her side.

Professionally created by an experienced author-publisher team, this joyful and beautifully-illustrated book contains a positive message but also poses important questions for talking to children about why some people might oppose marriage equality. Notes to help with these conversations are available for free download from our website: www.captainhoney.com.au.

Such a cute book! Genuinely funny, and with amazing detail in the pictures so there are new things to discover on re-reads.

This is a timely and amazing story about the complexities of today's world and the way in which everyone is different and yet similar. After reading this book children (and some adults) may come to appreciate the diversity within family units. What is wrong? Apparently, nothing. Hopefully, in a few year's time books like these will be made redundant - one can only hope. The Authors, Roz Hopkins, Natalie Winter, and Illustrator, Cara King have put together a fantastic story to help us understand how today's families can be made up in many different ways. Mummy and Mumma Get Married appeals not only to same-sex families but families in general. Publisher, Captain Honey has picked a winner here.

Fantastic book - currently nestled under my daughter's pillow.
Great for having conversations about our same sex friends and marriage.
As a bonus you can get it customised from the publishers with your daughter's name.
