Mouth to Mouth is book 1 in the Beach Kingdom Series from the talented Tessa Bailey, who is one of my most favorite authors ever. When she announced that she was writing a YA/NA story about an innocent girl falling in love with a bad boy who is misunderstood, I was beyond excited to read it. And let me tell you, that she did not disappoint!
Rory Prince is a young man with a prison record, who lives with his two older brothers, running a bar and working as a life guard from time to time. Life seems to pass right by him until he meets Olive Cunningham, a fresh faced college student. Rory knows that the likes of him should stay away from young innocent girls like her. But after saving her from almost getting killed twice, Rory is powerless to keep away from the super smart and sweet girl.
Being abandoned by her internet fame chasing family, Olive is now out on her own and discovering the world. Until running into Rory, she has only experienced life through books. Olive instantly knows that the strong pull she feels towards Rory is a once-in-a-lifetime feeling. If only he would stop trying to protect her…from himself.
Can a boy without dreams and hopes find happiness in the arms of a girl with a golden heart?
Mouth to Mouth was a short story packed with sweet moments, loveable characters and some major sexiness. I freaking loved it! Especially the chemistry between nerdy, innocent Olive and bad boy Rory who was a little more than obsessed with her. In a good way! Despite coming from two different worlds, they were perfect for each other. Her encouragement and understanding made Rory believe in himself and reach for more. While Rory was giving Olive many firsts, he also showed her, that not everyone will abandon her. With him she felt protected, cherished and loved.
Grab this amazing book and let yourself be carried away. I most definitely was. I'm giving this little gem of a book 5 well deserved stars.

I don't like Insta love, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Bad idea.
There was NO love, it was kind of just a love story. It felt like all the things that were happening were described as more intense than they actually were. We barely met Rory's family, or Olive's. It left a lot of loose ends, which I didn't like. What would Olive's parents say about her dating an ex-con. What was the deal with Rory's mom? What happened to his dad?
We also had NO character development. I've read similar books like this, with the good girl bad boy, or rich girl and wrong side of the tracks guy trope. While those have not been my faves, the girl has always had more spunk. Olive was just bland. I can't explain it any other way. I couldn't point out a single thing about her other than that she's needy.
Rory was alright. I don't like Alphas Males, but with someone like Olive demanding for an obsesseive guy, you can't blame him. I think the author tried hard to give him a good heart - but I wasn't buying it. He just seemed like a regular over possessive guy with temper problems.
There was also a lot of thigh-snapping and whimpering for my liking. I'm not a prude with sex scenes. I've read Getaway Girl and LOVED them. I think the problem was there wasn't much chemistry, and hardly any build up to them. They were far too intense people who had met like...two weeks ago.
If you like the bad boy, good girl story, or instalove books with an obsessive H and a sweet but boring h, you might like it. I picked up the book thinking I'd relate the the bookish h who lives vicariously through books. I'm disappointed I didn't get that. But I'll always pick up a Tessa Bailey book. Her writing is great and will make you finish a book no matter what.

Typical Tessa Bailey, tugging at my heart strings and making me wish I could fall into her mind, so she could write me into a story as hot as Mouth to Mouth. Seriously, I don’t know how the woman comes up with idea after idea and still manages to keep each book fresh and unique.
Mouth to Mouth is one of those love-at-first-sight, face-paced reads that alternates between sickly sweet and hot as Hades himself. I love a little love-hate relationship in my romance novels, but when Tessa Bailey gives you a love-love relationship you are going to love it no matter what you preferences are. I cannot reiterate that enough. I never thought I’d love a novel where the characters are desperate for each other from the first page, but god, it’ll be hard to go back to the regular push-and-pull that I’m used to from my hero and heroine.
I’ll be honest, you got to be in the right mood for our hero, Rory. He’s over-protective—although can you blame him with Ms. Near Death Olive?—and he’s… a lot. He’s a lot of emotion, a lot of insecurity, a lot overbearing at times. He isn’t a standoffish hero, but a desperately in love one. He was enamored with Olive and his feelings leapt off the page, forcing me to fall in love with him, too. My poor husband. His faults made him all the more real and it gave our heroine a chance to shine.
Olive isn’t looking for a bad boy, but she finds one in Rory. I loved that she was naïve in some ways (homeschooled with zero romance in her life), but oh-so-bright in others. She knew exactly what Rory needed to hear, but she wasn’t that shy, innocent virgin that we get so many times in books. She was book smart and street smart where it counted. And the girl knew what she wanted in bed, that’s for sure.
I always love Bailey’s work, but I can tell that this series is something special. I am obsessed with all the characters she introduces us to in Mouth to Mouth and I am foaming at the mouth for each individual story. I have already started harassing Tessa Bailey through social media and I only have to wait four more days for the next installment. FOUR DAYS TOO MANY, TESSA!

Olive Cunningham is finally out on her own. She's experiencing life for the first time. After growing up on the internet courtesy of her family's You Tube channel one she was part of until she wasn't. Feeling like she was left out and abandoned when she no longer fit the role that was Meet The Cunningham's, Olive retreated into a world of books and learning.
When she meets Rory he saves her. Literally.
Rory is gone in the second he pulls Olive to safety. She's the one. His mind screams mine. Even though he doesn't want to dirty her up with his past he know's once he has her he won't be able to let go. This girl is amazing and she is the reason he wants to make himself better. To be good enough for her.
Olive is all in, but she can't help but let her mind wander to when she was enough for her family and then she wasn't. She may try to push Rory away but it will be no use. When two people are meant to be together life will find away.
Two broken and hurt people who rocked my world. I loved loved these two.
Sexy read and now Tessa Bailey is added to my go to for hot Alphas who love fiercely and for life.

It was steamy, and the plot was decent but Rory was a walking red flag and it was hard to overlook sometimes.
This is my least favorite book in the trilogy and if you can make it through this one, the next two make this one worth the "suffering"
