Mia Sheridan brings together two lonely people in a unique story of acceptance, recovery and the discovery. Once again she proves she is a master writer and storyteller as she proves love comes in all shapes and forms.
Mia’s books are so meaningful and exceptionally beautiful you are frequently in tears or just need a moment to absorb the words. My heart absolutely ached for both Gabriel and Ellie and their traumatic pasts that they both dealt with in extremely different ways.
If you've read the magnificent ‘Archer's Voice’, you'll adore Gabriel and his intuitive observations. Gabriel is kind, gentle and has this sense of calmness about him. He has such a warm disposition and a positive outlook on life. His interactions with people leave them feeling valued. He also has a very vulnerable side to him and he wants to explore that more so he can take more steps to move forward in his personal life. This is how he meets Ellie.
Ellie lives week to week, struggling to get by in a job she hates but she has no choice in staying as she needs to survive financially. Gabriel is a customer and she catches his eye. It is not her beauty that grabs his interest however rather he can sense something else in her, an ability to mask pain and he really wants to get to know her...
‘If eyes were the windows to the soul, I’d witnessed the CLOSED sign being flipped over within the speed of a single blink. How long had it taken her to master that?’
Once again, like all of Mia’s books there is drama and angst galore in ‘Most of all You’ and although a love story, this is one very much based on the building of a very beautiful yet fragile friendship.
‘Our pasts-and our hearts-aligned in such a way that we were meant to heal each other.’
From the heartbreaking prologue to the very last page, I was held captive by the beautiful words that Mia weaved into such an incredible story. It truly is a work of art... 5 beautiful Stars.
