Product description

Product Description

In this first book of the four book series Bruce Koerber has given to the world (and to the science of economics) a new economic model which connects human beings to the world around them. This is done using the methodology of subjectivism, in other words, all humans make subjective decisions that lead to the actions that they take and this is what is conveyed in the model.

After twenty years of study and contemplation of the literature of classical liberalism the seed of a model appeared in a dream and it is from that seed that all of the variations of the model came into existence. One parallel outcome is the expansion far beyond what exists in the economic literature regarding the uses of production possibilities frontiers (PPF), and understanding the causes of an expanding or a contracting economy.

The macroeconomic perspective of this book, which culminates with the merging of the model and sound theory, ultimately comes to a conclusion with eleven clear, ethical, and practicable policies.

"I'm always glad to see a new approach to solidly reasoned economic theory that may be able to reach a new segment of the population." Jim Cox, author of "The Concise Guide to Economics"

The economy, it turns out, is something "More Than Laissez-Faire" and that is because there is absolutely no moral authority for human intervention into the economy. Up until now the human science of economics has recognized the physical and the intellectual reality of human beings but at that point it stops. True science, however, continually advances into the unknown using valid scientific methodology. This is the more complete picture of economic science that you will find in this book and fortunately it is written in such a way that both a general audience and an economics-minded reader will enjoy.
"Excellent book. A must read, for anybody who is willing to understand REAL economy." Jorge Trucco

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely well written and concise... 29 December 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on
An amazingly well written treatise based on Misesian economic theory. More Than Laizzes Faire explains the moral case for unhampered human action in the economy. This is not a religious take on economics (there are many other works that do that) but rather, a clear and concise demonstration on how praxeology (economic human action) can flourish in our divinely inspired economic system when left alone.

More Than Laizzes Faire neatly ties in the spiritual with the mortal in a way that's also informative. The Divine Economy Model is clearly illustrated, dissected and explained in this book.

This work is a "must read" for the student who finds something lacking in their normal studies. It helps to fill the holes that prior economists have left behind. I have rated it five stars because it definitely fills a void that I had discovered in my studies. I highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound Economics 30 July 2014
By Jim Cox - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Koerber's innovative book with its sound economics is presented on the basis of his Divine Economic Theory--"subjectivist methodology to explore how the human identity of being created in the 'image of God' helps us understand how the economy works." I'm always glad to see a new approach to solidly reasoned economic theory that may be able to reach a new segment of the population; this one is the latest in my experience. Others that present sound economics in unique formats include the Keynes-Hayek rap videos, Peter Schiff's comic book, Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson, Robert LeFevre's Lift Her Up, Tenderly, and I'll mention my own The Haiku Economist book.

Koerber puts an emphasis on capital that I think is to be much appreciated. He sees intervention in the economy as disrupting the human spirit of action and entrepreneurship and does a very able job of supporting such a thesis. These ideas are illustrated on a clever revised rendering of the production possibilities frontier. I liked his writing including a number of phrases such as "floating price system" and "the market process is benevolent and its process is profoundly cooperative, and quietly consultative in nature".

Emphasis is placed on the subjective nature of values due to the uniqueness of every individual.

The book also includes a very useful glossary. Well worth a read!

To say this book is enlightening, would be an understatement . Seeing the economy as a reflection of divine order opened my eyes.
