Kathleen Brooks try at paranormal romance is a great success

This was the first time Kathleen Brooks has written a paranormal romance murder mystery. I thought she did a very good job and I really enjoyed this book and would recommend the series. The book was from the female heroine’s point of view only and I really liked Zoey’s character. I wish there was more of Slade though, and hopefully he will appear more in the other two books.
The book still had Kathleen’s small town charm and quirky characters like Agnes and Vilma. You had the Irises with the password of “Men are stupid, bless their hearts”, Opossums and Mountaineers which showed the interesting town dynamics. I laughed out loud a number of times.
I have read/own most of Kathleen’s books and enjoy the way she writes her characters and stories. If you have read the bluegrass, bluegrass brothers series etc...I don’t think you will be disappointed with this book. I am an avid paranormal reader, so I might be a little biased, but I would say this has passed the grade. I also think it’s a good idea to keep this book free so that readers can see if they like it. That way both current and new readers can find this book. The magic was great and the story behind the magic was well thought out. I wish this book was longer as it was too short and so much more could have happened….Enjoy! Looking forward to reading the next two books in this series.
