This was a really good, and really emotional story. Mia is recovering from breast cancer and a recent divorce. She has two children and moves back to Marietta with her parents until she can build a house on her plot of land there. When she goes to check out her plot, she finds a squatter there living in a tent, Ryker Benson. Ryker says the land is his, left to him by his father. The two are attracted to each other, but are now stuck in a legal battle over the land.
I loved Mia and Ryker. Mia's kids were great too, especially her daughter who was a very typical teenage girl. I really enjoyed seeing Mia's emotional change and growth dealing with her feelings about her body and what the cancer took from her.
All around it was a great read.

Another heartfelt story in the Big Sky Mavericks series.

Confusion over the ownership of a piece of property brings two unlikely people together.

Mia Zabrinski, a divorced cancer survivor is raising her children on her own and hopes to start building her dream home when she finds out a man is camping out there. She is strangely attracted to this man when she meets him. And what she sees of his expensive possessions, leads her to believe there is more to him than meets the eye.

Ryker Benson is mourning the loss of his girlfriend and unborn child. He has decided to get away from everything to figure out his next move in life. He returns to the Marietta River where his father took him fishing when he was growing up. It’s a place that brings back great memories. One memory he has never forgotten was of a girl floating down the river. He knew nothing about her except they called her Nitro.

Spending time together, as they try to figure out who the real owner of the land is, leads them to a romance neither one of them was expecting. Could this be the love that each has been looking for?

Two people recovering from shattered lives--recovering from breast cancer and divorce for Mia, and loss of girlfriend and baby by Ryker--find love and healing together, against the odds and obstacles in their way. Wonderfully written on such delicate subjects--this was done the right way! Gifted author! Love the story!

Meg had moved back home with her two children when she divorced he ex and survived cancer. it was a hard time for her and her family little did she no she would meet and fall in love with a man from her past. And that she's meet him on her divorce settlement land . Things soon developed between the two but something was holding her back. Love prevails bringing them back together again and soon to be married and build their dream home on the land of their past childhood. Good story keeps you reading.

I have read a few books by this author and they have all been good reads with a strong storyline. Mia is divorced and has moved back to Montana to gain some semblance in her life and recover from cancer. She is shocked to find the land she proposed to build a house on appears to belong to one handsome photographer Ryker. They have an intense affair, he makes her feel sexy again.
