Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction book blog. I loved the premise of this book. I thought it was extremely unique and that Marika has done a wonderful job telling this story. That both Jameson and Lily-Marie were basically doing the same list thingy in regards to relationships was excellent. A throw back to the 50's courting gestures and it shows just how far we have come. I found myself laughing away especially with Lily-Marie. Her infatuation with Disney princess movies was fabulous and it was great that she tapped into that youthful side of herself any chance she could get. Yeah sometimes she used it as a crux, but why not? And who knew a nerdy science professor could be so super hot? I found Jameson to be absolutely adorkable. He didn't come across as an overly confident man throughout the book. Usually finding his happiness in his work and his son. But towards the end of the book, he showed Lily-Marie just how assertive and strong he could be, much to her delight!! This book was a really quick read which I highly enjoyed.
Mom-Com was my first read from author Marika Ray and it was an an interesting read.
I am new to single mom and dad romances but I definitely liked the characters Jameson and Lily-Marie who are likeable. I liked how both had different perspectives on love and their personalities and moments together made for an entertaining read.
This book was a great read with lots of moments of laughter, tension, good chemistry and overall is a book with heart and soul.
