I really liked it. I have to admit I hadn't read the first book & picked this one up as a freebie but am definitely interested in reading Book 1 & 2.
Mephisto is hot. Totally alpha in every sense. I really enjoyed the way he was written (I am a fan of reading the males POV). His affection for Molly really drew me in & I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes.
I was really intrigued by Molly (which I'm sure reading Book 1 will clear up) & her relationship/marriage to her master.
Really well written. I'll definitely read more from Annabel Joseph

Club Mephisto was both uncomfortable and fascinating to read, it took me to places I wasn't sure I wanted to go to but I found it impossible to put down once I'd started reading. The story was told completely from Molly's point of view though and I couldn't wait to get inside Mephisto's head to try and understand why he did some of the things he did. Whatever you do don't read Molly's Lips until after you've read Club Mephisto though - this is a retelling of the original book but from a different perspective and it really is best to hear Molly's side of things before you get Mephisto's.

I have to admit that Mephisto scares me half to death but in spite of that I'd developed a bit of a crush on him by the end of the first book. He's the kind of guy I'm drawn to pretty much against my will but there is no way on earth I'd want to get into a relationship with him, he's just way to hardcore for me! My little crush has only grown even deeper after reading the story from his POV though and I found it really interesting to see Molly through his eyes. He knew her before she met her husband and Master and he struggled to accept how dependent she has become on Clayton. He pushes her to the very edge of her boundaries and then well beyond them throughout the story but we now get to see that he did it because he cares about her. He wanted to make sure she really is happy with the life she has chosen and to show her that she had other options if she needed or wanted them. The way he goes about that was sometimes dubious to say the least but at least from his POV his motives are clearer. There is no doubt that Mephisto is a kinky bastard and he makes no apologies for it but oh boy is he hot!

After the revelations at the end of the book (that we didn't see from Molly's POV) I can't wait to pick up Burn for Me. I really need to know how things turn out for them both now that Molly has gone back to her Master. If you read Club Mephisto then Molly's Lips is a must read and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I must say it was great to get Maphisto.s point of view on this story . I have read this book a couple of years ago but never left a review so today I decided to do it . It's an emotional read but not of pain or heartbreak it's more of discovery . . There is Edgeiging for Molly for quite a few days plus other stuff . I really felt for her . Any way it's a great story . Highly recommended .

Ich bin auf Annabelle Joseph gestoßen, als ich ein Radiointerview mit ihr gehört habe. Darin hat sie unter anderem erzählt, dass sie mit ihrem Mann in einer D/s-Beziehung lebt, und ihn beispielsweise fragen muss, ob sie ein paar Minuten später nach Hause kommen darf, wenn sie beim Einkaufen einer Freundin begegnet, die sie zu einem Kaffee einlädt. Für mich persönlich unvorstellbar, aber nachdem ich bisher einige Bücher aus dem BDSM-Bereich gelesen habe, deren Autorinnen (z.B. Kallypso Masters) zugeben, den Lifestyle nicht selbst zu leben, wollte ich mal ein Buch aus der Feder einer Autorin lesen, die tatsächlich in einer solchen Beziehung lebt und habe in diesem Falle zugegriffen, weil es kostenlos war.

Zu Frau Josephs Ehrenrettung möchte ich anmerken, dass sie vorab warnt, ihr Buch sei KEINE romantische Liebesgeschichte. Dennoch war ich bestürzt ob der völligen Lieblosigkeit, mit der die Protagonistin behandelt wird, und könnte das Buch höchstens knallharten Masochisten und Sadisten empfehlen.

ACHTUNG: REZENSION ENTHÄLT SPOILER!

Die Geschichte handelt von Molly, die als rebellische Kellnerin in einem BDSM-Klub einen reichen, älteren Mann namens Clayton kennenlernt. Die beiden heiraten und gehen eine 24/7-Beziehung ein. Nach außen hin führen sie eine "normale" Ehe, doch in Wahrheit beherrscht er jede Minute ihres Daseins. So muss sie den ganzen Tag nackt herumlaufen und sexuell verfügbar sein, muss jeden Tag zwei Stunden lang ein Instrument seiner Wahl - welches sie übrigens hasst - spielen lernen, und sollte sie auch nur ein paar Gramm zu- oder abnehmen, erhält sie von ihrem Ehemann = Sklavenhalter eine Prügelstrafe. Wenn er nicht zu Hause ist, wird sie von der Haushälterin überwacht, die, wie wir später erfahren, das Ehepaar für völlig pervers hält, und die Arbeit nur deshalb erträgt, weil sie dafür außerordentlich gut bezahlt wird und das Geld dringend für ihre Familie braucht.

Da Molly die totale Überwachung braucht (warum sie die totale Überwachung braucht, wird nie geklärt), übergibt ihr Ehemann sie an Mephisto, in dessen Klub sie früher, also vor ihrem Leben als 24-Stunden/Tag-Sklavin, gearbeitet hat. Dieser soll sich um sie kümmern, was darin kulminiert, dass Mephisto nicht nur ihren Tagesrhythmus bestimmt, sie zum Schlafen in einen Käfig sperrt und sie zu sexuellen Handlungen zwingt, unter anderem mit einem homosexuellen Sklaven, um die beiden für etwas zu bestrafen, das Molly im Übrigen nicht getan hat. Anders formuliert: Mephisto benutzt Molly als Sexsklavin, als Haushaltssklavin und auf jede nur erdenkliche, für mich BEDENKLICHE Art und Weise, wie es meiner Meinung nach niemand, der bei klarem Verstand ist, je zulassen würde.

In BDSM-Kreisen wird stets die Wichtigkeit von "safe, sane and consensual" hervorgehoben, doch ich zweifle ernsthaft an Mollys Verstand (sane), auch um ihre Zustimmung (consense) wird sie nicht gefragt. Was Mephisto und auch Clayton ihr antun, hat nichts mit "Spiel" zu tun, das ist einfach nur Missbrauch. Selbst dann, wenn Molly ausnahmsweise mal nach ihrer Meinung gefragt wird, was selten genug vorkommt, redet sie ihren "Master(n)" nur nach dem Mund und gibt nur das von sich, was die beiden Herren hören wollen. Das hat nichts mit "sicher, bei klarem Verstand und in gegenseitlichem Einverständnis" zu tun!

Weitergelesen habe ich trotzdem - ich gebe zu, dass ich einige Szenen überblättert habe - denn Frau Joseph (Künstlername) schreibt durchaus spannend, nur dass das Thema mich persönlich einfach nur entsetzt und nicht erregt hat. Dass ein Mann seine Ehefrau an einen anderen Mann zur Benutzung ausborgt, der sie schlägt und r*mm*lt, hat für mich nichts mit einer guten, liebevollen Ehe zu tun. Mir hat die Frau bis zu einem gewissen Grad leid getan, doch selbst mein Mitleid für sie hält sich in Grenzen, da sie diesen Lebensstil selbst gewählt hat. Es fällt mir schwer irgendetwas Gutes über die Geschichte zu sagen: Ich hasse die Story, hasse alle drei Hauptprotagonisten, hasse die Gewalt und Erniedrigung, hasse die offenkundig gehirntote Protagonistin, hasse es, dass es den Männern nur um die eigene Befriedigung geht, hasse es, dass sie null Respekt vor Frauen haben.

If you do not like BDSM and kink...do not read this book.
Ms. Joseph does not play around and tease her readers with just hints of the lifestyle. This is pretty strong material. Having said this...I personally enjoyed the story. I enjoy reading many different genres so you need to remember this is a BDSM book. Ms. Joseph knows how to write a sexy, gritty and compelling read.

This is the tale of a young woman, Molly, in a M/s relationship. Her Master leaves her in the care of friend and club owner Mephisto when he must leave town on business. There is a history between Molly and Mephisto and the author lays it out for the reader.
I did not read the first telling of this book which is from Molly's point of view. This is the same story from Mephisto's point of view. I enjoyed it very much. I liked that Mephisto wants more from Molly than just a 24/7 slave. He appreciates that she is an intelligent woman with a mind of her own. He is a very demanding dom and while he wants her total submission, the author lets us see that he wants to know more about the woman including her intellect and desires.

There is a scene toward the end of the book when Mephisto takes Molly out for the day and buys her a vanilla ice cream cone. Yeah, I know... I found it ironic too. Ms Jacobs does have a sense of humor. As he watches her enjoy her treat, he thinks about the last time she may have been allowed to just be herself. He knows she has a college degree and used to hold down a job. Personally, Mephisto is not into the 24/7 Master/slave relationship. I loved being allowed to see how he thought about her.

As this tale concludes it is obvious that there must be more ahead for our H/h. The good news is that Ms. Jacobs did not leave us wondering for long. The next book, Burn for You, continues the story for these two. I will be reading it soon, I promise.
