Andrew Watts is an engineer-architect who specialises in the engineering design of facades and their interface with structural and environmental design. Andrew is a Fellow of three UK engineering institutions which represent his set of interests in building engineering: structures with the Institution of Civil Engineers; facades with the Institution of Engineering Designers; mechanical and electrical assemblies with the Institution of Engineering and Technology. All three institutions are committed to engineering innovation in building design. He holds charterships in the UK for engineering and for architecture from the Institution of Engineering Designers and the Royal Institute of British Architects. He is the author of the Modern Construction Series of textbooks published by Birkhauser, a set of standard textbooks used in engineering departments at leading universities around the world.
