Addicted to daydreaming and romance from a young age, Angela suspects she was destined to become a writer although she did travel a convoluted career path on her way to authordom. Like many an intrepid Kiwi she also travelled the world, backpacking through Europe, Egypt, Israel, Turkey and the Greek Islands before settling for a time in London. Now she lives back home in New Zealand, never taking a day in her beautiful country for granted and loving the challenge of pursuing her writerly dreams.

This is the usual alpha (read controlling, boorish etc) billionaire meets Cinders (almost/comparatively). Yawn…
The writing style does not engage you. When you are reading the most oft used tropes, you hope the author makes it interesting……… unfortunately here it is just plain boring.
Xaviers behaviour with Jordan is overbearing, rude. Jordan's characterization is good, but comes across as weak …(maybe because she is grieving………!?, but it really does not come across that way)
The one star is for getting the part about an adoptee's pain, when they are not accepted by part of the family/soceity. Quite oddly, this is more common among the rich- mainly due to inheritance issues. The non-acceptance is always played out on the child……never in front of the parents. Vicious, wounding words, used slyly. Undermining covertly. It does result in extremes- either the child conforms and tries to be perfect (like in this story) or goes off the rails on the other end of the spectrum. If perfect then it is deemed to be due to good upbringing… and if the other then it is said 'ungrateful, bad blood etc etc. Basically, the adopted child cannot win.
This book had potential to be a great book...somehow the author lost the plot along the way and rushed the end which is so annoying...not a great conclusion to this story...Stick to the plot and develop a story worth reading!! Disappointed...Not sure why this was rated 4 1/2 stars..
I love Xavier and Jordan 's story and particularly the story line and how it all came together. I'm loving Angela Bissell's books...haven't read much of them but will certainly be adding them to my collection.
This was a really great book to read. I read the first book about Ramon. I like the story of both brothers. Xavier was adopted and finds information from his birth mother s stepdaughter. I highly recommend reading this book
