I fell in love with books at a young age, and growing up, whenever Dad realized I'd disappeared when I was supposed to be working, he usually found me hiding out somewhere with a book. Writing evolved from reading, and the first story I ever finished was in high school, about my celebrity crush. I got an A on that creative writing 'assignment, ' though I'm not sure my teacher ever read all 187 pages. I started writing again in my mid-twenties, and no matter the journey my characters take, the end result is always the same-Happily Ever After. After years of being a travel agent while writing on the side, I am now able to live my dream of being a full time writer. I'm still an avid reader, and also a fan of movies with that HEA. I live in my native Wisconsin with my husband and kids, and in my limited free time, I enjoy gardening, canning, and visiting my parents in Northeastern Wisconsin (Up North) at the family cabin on the lake. This was a good romance to read at Christmas time. Mark Riley and Janelle Walsh met when they were last minute fill-ins for the Court Jester and Snow Queen parts in the Christmas Parade. Their attraction for each other was a problem when they realized Mark was the new owner of the property Jannelle used for rescue animals and was evicting her on Christmas Eve.
This Christmas story definitely helped put me in the holiday spirit with the mistletoe, parade and Santa Butch. Janelle is a loving woman who cares deeply for the animals in the rescue center and everyone else in her life. She's a smart, hard working woman and very far from the old lady Mark thought ran the animal rescue. After leaving the military, Mark bought property in the small town of Pulaska planning on building a resort to bring tourists and their money to the area. It's a good idea but doesn't work with Jannelle's plans. He's a good guy who is kind and charming most of the time. But sometimes he's short tempered and not so easy to be with.
Are Jannelle and Mark going to be able to build on their feelings? Maybe Santa Butch and some mistletoe will help them resolve their property problems and find romance.
