THE MAN WITH NO FACE IS COMING...

CSI Darby McCormick finds an emaciated, terrified woman hiding in the shadows of a crime scene. A DNA search reveals the woman was abducted five ago and, somehow, she's escaped the dungeon in which she was caged.

With a teenage girl also missing, Darby knows the clock is ticking and this woman is their only lead.

But what she doesn't know is that this is a serial killer who has been prowling America for decades. A killer who Darby knows. The Man With No Face.

Once, long ago, he tore her life apart. Now he wants to finish the job...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Missing- revisited 4 February 2013

I was half way through this book before I realised I had read it before. Having said that, this did not detract from my enjoyment of the book.I seldom read a book twice, unless it is a personal all time favourite. While this is not a personal favourite ,it says something that I did finish rereading this book.

It is the first in the series, and I am now working my way through the rest of the series.

Police/ crime scene procedural. The characters feel real, and have well developed back stories.

CHRIS MOONEY HITS A HOME RUN WITH THIS BOOK. THIS GENRE IS AMONG MY FAVORITES & MOONEY BELONGS IN THE SMALL, SELECT GROUP OF EXCELLENT AUTHORS. HIS CHARACTERIZATION IS STRONG & THAT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITES ASPECTS IN ANY GOOD BOOK! I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THE OTHER 3 BOOKS STARRING THIS CHARACTER. THIS IS THE THIRD BOOK I'VE READ BY MOONEY AND ALL HIS WORK STAYS CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good gripping page turner 4 February 2013

There are many thrillers about missing people but this is one which spans decades. It is a good read, a proper page turning thriller with many twists and turns. I will be looking for more books by this author
