Misfit Magic introduces a new set of heroines from the virtual pen of the author. It's set in an interesting world where dragons rule. The dragon's have two forms, one fully human except for their hair colours and a second draconic form with scales and other enhancements which can fly. Magic is a large part of the world but not all dragons use it.

Imagine a crossover of Harry Potter with tv shows like Charmed. The characters are a bit interchangeable at first but as the story progresses they grow as individuals. There are mysteries to be explored and exploring the world is part of the fun of the book. In fact exploring the world is the best part of the book. Yes, there is a lot of lesbian sex between the girls, too much really. I would have preferred some of the students to just be platonic friends. Hopefully the next book will concentrate on the remaining mysteries encountered in this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a terrible first book in a series... 11 May 2017

Like many of Niall's books, this is loaded with Girl-on-Girl sex. Almost to a distraction. Which is OK if there is a decent plot to support it.

However the book is too quick paced (breezy?) for the action happening. Things wrap up too neatly, too quickly with no consequences.

Overall it's the sex that ruined this book. Every single girl is obsessed with banging each other. It just doesn't hold up as other than simple porn wrapped in a thin plot.

Niall can do better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not up to his usual standard 20 May 2017

A bit disappointing. Saphic Harry Potter with pseudo dragons. I honestly cant work out who the target audience is. Its like Mallory Towers, with pyjama parties, bitchy cliques and school-time high jinks, with occassional soft porn interludes against a completely opaque background of magic that is more mumbo pseudo science than anything. I have really enjoyed nearly all of the authors other books, but this was poor. Not recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome story 7 May 2017

As always the author didn't disappoint. Some of the key points of the story were predictable, but you can gloss over it and appreciate the magic system and world building. The characters are endearing, smart and funny! A page turner who deserve the money I spent on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Schooled in Magic for Adults! 7 May 2017

Really like the story and the pacing was just right. All the joys of a magical highschool-like environment on a far away magical dragon planet with treachery at every turn for five friends trying to survive and thrive at the exclusive and only magical college for women.
5.0 out of 5 stars More Power To The Feather Munchers 15 May 2017

I liked the magic system. If you liked other stories by this author you will like this story. I am looking forward to more books in this series. I am also looking forward to whether the protagonist becomes one of the rulers or if the author takes it in a completely different direction. More please.
