Diving into this story, it was like I never left the world of the Badlands! It was as dark, depraved and twisted as I expected and I devoured it all. I guess it could be read as a standalone but it's always best to read them all to get the full horror/romance experience.
Samuel is the cruel, ruthless leader of the Stag and Lazarus faction in the Badlands. He and Lilith share a connection and history that can't be beat but that doesn't mean they have an easy relationship. At this point Lilith is basically being held prisoner by the one she loves but everything changes when she plans to escape. They have one of the most toxic relationships. The secrets, the lack of communication and constant fighting made me so mad sometimes. But at the same time you can't help but root for them and hope they get their HEA.
If you haven't met the savage people that reside in the brutal, violent world of the Badlands and are looking for a dark read then I highly recommend checking out this addictive series.

Another dark and twisted read!Reviewed in the United States on 1 March 2021
I have been patiently waiting for this book for what felt like forever and god dang with the wait worth it! Natalie once again throw us into the dark, twisted and demented world of the Badlands, keeping us on our toes every step of the way wondering what messed up thing was gonna happen next. Lilith and Samael"s story was as epic as the ones that came before them. Lilith was a little more an the demure side compared to some of the other girls but the girl could still hold her on against the crazies out there. Samael was the next greatest alphahole you hate to love. He was over possessive and extra protective of his love and it made your dark heart love him for it. I loved Takara and Poet and hope to see more of them in future books. There is just something so intriguing about how dark and depraved the Badlands are that makes you never want to leave that world. I can't wait to see what craziness Natalie gives us next and if that little sneak peek at Misfits was any indication, is going to be deliciously depraved!
Hard to write into words.Reviewed in the United States on 22 March 2021
I was super excited to read Miscreants. It took me so long to read this book. I couldn't get into it. Samael was an ass to the point where it was not necessary at all. For someone who love someone so much, keeping Lilith out of the loop was crappy. Lilith was so annoying it made me sick. She wanted out she wanted back in. She loved she hated Samael. I found nothing likeable about any character. The Next Generation can't compare to The originals. "Mal" will NEVER be Romeo his father Grimm or Cobra. Lilith will NEVER measure up to the strong and powerful Calista Arlen or her mom Blue. And I really hated how even Bella kept Lilith out of the loop.
Loved it!Reviewed in the United States on 28 February 2021
I’ve waited so long for this book and to go back into The Badlands. This is by far one of my favorite series I have ever read. Natalie brings you into her world and will not let you go. In Miscreants, we finally get Samael and Lilith’s story. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with their story; however, I thoroughly enjoyed their story. Shows how true a love can be even in the darkest and depraved way as only Natalie does. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
