Fans of Toni Aleo expect a fair amount of hockey laced with their romance and Misadventures with a Rookie does not disappoint. Aleo does a fabulous job meshing enough hockey action with both heart and heat to make this a great example of a true sports romance tale. Perfectly flawed yet open to growth, these enemies to lovers make this a real page-turner with a hero who delivers such a stunning declaration of love, it will leave readers swooning.-- "RT Book Reviews (4 1/2 stars, Top Pick!)"
About the Author
Toni Aleo is the author of the Nashville Assassins series. When not rooting for her beloved Nashville Predators, she's probably attending her husband's and son's hockey games and her daughter's dance competitions, taking pictures, scrapbooking, or reading the latest romance novel. Aleo lives in the Nashville area with her husband, two children, and a bulldog.

I haven't read any of the other Misadventures books, but don't despair, you don't need to have!
I won't lie, at first I really didn't think I was going to like Gus "The Bus" Persson and his cocky, arrogant ways. I am all for being sure of yourself, but he was just OTT and really quite annoying at first.
However not far into the book my opinions of him did change, and I couldn't help but adore him.
Bo for me went the opposite way. I liked her, liked that she didn't take any of his crap, liked that she wouldn't just jump in bed with him. However as the story progressed, I just wanted to shake some sense into her, wanted to tell her to stop being such a dumb-a$$ and to stop looking into the past. And her big bad secret, well it wasn't really a secret to the reader.
It makes it sound like I didn't like this story, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I really did like the story, I just got completely frustrated with the characters a lot of the time.
However things did come around and I didn't want to wring either of their necks by the end!
I adored the uncertainty of their story in the world of the minors, never knowing where they could end up.
I laughed so hard at some of the events in this story. I don't want to give anything away but suffice to say I got the giggles.
Ms Aleo is one of my auto-one-click authors, and I very much enjoyed the chance to read an advanced copy of Misadventures With A Rookie.
I can't wait to see what she brings us next.
The way she looked at me, like I stole her doll and drew d* on its mouth, revved my engines.
It had been a long time since I yearned for a woman, probably because they usually threw themselves at me. I was pretty sure the only thing redhead wanted to throw at me was a puck.
I would never intentionally hurt you. And besides, my mom would kill me if I did.
She scoffed. “Please, the only thing I thought that man was put on this earth for was to give me you. After that, he was slime.” “I’m right here, Lauren.” My face broke into a grin as my mom went on. “Well, obviously that’s changed. I love you, duh.”
I’ll never finish loving you. It just keeps going on and on. I’ve finished a lot of things. A period during a game, a goal, and plenty of women that I shouldn’t really be bringing up, but oh well, it’s part of my point. With you it’s constant and I can’t… I just can’t finish.
I smirked my way through this witty and amusing New Adult/College/Hockey Romance, which is in all honesty, a trifecta of genres I rarely peruse. Maybe I should indulge in them more often, or maybe I should just read more of the comically talented Ms. Aleo’s work as I was engaged throughout and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was highly entertained by the premise as well as the expletive-spewing and quirky accident-prone characters with their salacious sensual scenes and inner musings, which morphed into a sweet/sizzling romance. Ms. Aleo has a wicked sense of humor and excellent pacing. I adored the character’s clever exchanges, witty quips, and saucy banter - especially those flowing from the elder Perssons who were obviously the fun parentals. More, please, Ms. Aleo. I greedily want all your naughty tales.
Another hot, sexy hockey romance with a drool worthy player - who never gets told no, and a beauty who has sworn off men - but has no chance of resisting Gus when he sets his mind on having her. Hilariously funny in some parts, you will both cringe and laugh out loud! Will it be just a hot one night stand or will it develop into something more?? You’ll have to read it to find out!
This is the story of Bo and Gus. He's a hockey player and everything she doesn't want, she is everything he didn't know he wanted. He's a player with a standard quote, "One and done", she has a past that won't let her consider a relationship. But Gus works hard for Bo to give him a chance, helped along by a few visits to the ER, will he get the girl?

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
In Misadventures of a Rookie we meet Gus Pearson and Bo St James, straight away these two had me in stitches of laughter moments after they meet with the verbal sparring between them. Their friends that are around them at the time can feel and see the sparks flying between Bo and Gus.
“Um, did anyone else see the fireworks”
Bo and Gus show us how you shouldn’t judge a person on how they act ..... you never know what things have happened in their lives. Bo has been let down in her past and Gus is trying to break down her walls and let him in and show Bo he can be there for her in so many ways.
Toni consistently gives her readers a laugh with the antics that Bo and Gus experience in their journey and how they are there for each other and how Gus is their for Bo like no one else has before.
Toni makes the reader feel as if they are part of Bo and Gus story by making us laugh and feel the emotions that are happening to them during their journey.
Well worth the read, this is a stand alone but hopefully Toni gives a some more of Bo and Gus in her other hockey series.
