Maggie Phillips is back in an all new Misadventure!

After a year in Hudson, Maggie Phillips—A.K.A the laundry hag—is sure she’s seen all the small Massachusetts town has to offer. Of course that’s until her newest client turns out to be psychic who’s inherited a massive estate from her recently deceased grandfather, much to the displeasure of the rest of the family. Maggie soon suspects that what everyone believed was death by natural causes might’ve been a well-planned murder. Never fear, Maggie, her sexy SEAL and the rest of the cleaning crew are on the case. Are the relations responsible for terrorizing the timid soothsayer and how far will they go to reclaim one percenter status? One thing’s for sure, the laundry hag never saw this kerfuffle coming….

Oh She is funny, sassy, stressed out and a little crazy but Maggie is also awesome at solving puzzles even if her gorgeous hubby Neil doesn't like it he still does his best to keep Maggie safe and support her the best he can, as for Maggie she finds trouble lurking around every corner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it 1 July 2015

Maggie Phillips is a full time everything to everyone and there are days when it is just enough and others over the top too much. She adores her family and could not ask for a better husband but maybe he could a little less than perfect like her occasionally, please. But with her cleaning business moving along at a snail’s pace the latest job seems like it will be long term and interesting. Sarah needs to clean out the remnants from her grandfather’s home and Maggie is going to do her best to keep the good memories and purge the bad ones. Her friend Sylvia is always there to hold the trash bag open and offer advice but what Maggie needs is to control her own self more and others a little less.

As she moves through the piles of left overs Maggie discovers a life that Sarah’s grandfather led that he kept a secret from everyone and Sarah wants Maggie’s help to uncover the mystery of why he was so reclusive. The more Maggie delves into this man’s history the less she likes him and what he may have done. There are friends that are dying from apparent old age but are they really or someone helping them along. She knows that it is not paranoia if someone really is after you, and Maggie has had a lot of people after her for less than honorable reasons.

While Maggie sorts through someone else’s junk she is also deciding where to take her life from the point she is at right now. Does she want another baby, would she like to take on a career with her sons growing up, or is the thought of sharing something unique with her husband all that matters. Well staying alive and not getting into another hole she cannot find a way out of is the most important to do every day of her life, let’s face it she is not the most lucky in some areas of life.

The characters are engaging, the mystery intriguing, and the story line never stops moving which is just a few of the reasons I love to read a book written by Jennifer Hart. I admit to complete reader disclosure that Maggie is my favorite character because of her imperfection and complete love of cleaning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another delightful Laundry Hag book 7 July 2015

I love how close Maggie and Neil are, so in love with each other. Things are pretty good in their life now, but Neil wants to have a baby with her and she isn’t sure she wants to since the boys are growing up and don’t need her as much, perhaps they can have more time to themselves or she could focus more on her Laundry Hag cleaning business. Her friend and partner in the business accept a job to clean out the home of Sarah Dale’s grandfather, which she has inherited. Sarah’s relatives are furious that her grandfather left his house to her. Sarah is a physic, but is unable to “see” things about herself or her relatives. Bad things are happening around Sarah, and she is a nervous wreck. Incidents are happening to Maggie as well, but are they connected? This story moves fast and is very exciting with an ending no one could have predicted. I could not put it down until I finished it, and I think anyone who enjoys a cozy mystery (no graphic violence, etc.) with a little romance will like it as well.

I enjoyed this one as well as the previous three, one of my favorite parts is how Ms. Hart added the Mackenzie women from her other sleuthing books. It just added a bit more flavor and texture and of course humour. Thanks again Jennifer Hart for sharing your love and talent and heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Addition To Series 6 July 2015

The latest adventure of the Maggie Phillips aka. the Laundry Hag. Maggie has a bit of baggage and the series is as much about her working through that as it is the mysteries she solves and in many cases the mysteries that draw her in are because of the issues she is working through. Sometimes funny, some insightful and always an enjoyable read and story.
The latest is a good addition to the series and expands and extends the story nicely. There is a bit of a cliff hanger at the end but I won't spoil it for you. While each is a complete story I think you will enjoy most if you read them in order starting with the prequel Who Needs A Hero.
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding addition to the Laundry Hag series. 2 July 2015

LOVE, LOVE, Loved it. This is my favorite of the series so far. I have been a fan of Maggie and Neil since I read the first book and have loved watching Maggie deal with the changes in her life since Neil retired from the SEALS. The mysteries are great and I am a big mystery reader, but the relationships are my favorite part of each book.

Maggie is thrilled to be offered a job clearing out the home of a young psychic whose grandfather recently passed away. She quickly becomes attached to the young lady and when things feel wrong, she feels compelled to look into the situation. This time Maggie isn’t even sure if there has been a murder or if the gentleman in question truly died of an age related heart-attack. But when more things happen including a kidnap attempt, she can’t help but connect all the incidences.

Life at home is complicated too. Penny is having problems, Sylvia disappears, and of course Neil is still awaiting her answer about having a baby.
