Great read to improve mindset. Being a runner, I actually related to these workouts in a special way because I actually do these workouts physically as part of my marathon training. She also explains the importance of goal setting. I had a goal of running a marathon last year. There is no running race goals. But having other little goals along the way, certainly helps with mindset. After reading her chapter on goals, I wrote down a list of goals in various aspects of my life. It definitely put things into perspective. She also talks about chunking down goals, having mini goals helps to get to the ultimate goal. For example, on the weekend, I had a goal of improving running a 10km route compared to the week before. Because I wrote down this goal, I actually pushed myself harder and kept on pushing myself up a hill and obtained 1 minute faster compared to the week before.
In the beginning of each chapter, she uses various real life examples of people she knows and their life stories on how they achieve their success. It makes it easy to visualise what success looks like.
In conclusion, this book definitely helps to improve mindset, improve mental fitness. I train physically to get fit. I now have mental workouts to improve mental health. I am also trying to develop a habit of doing mental workouts everyday, e.g. practice gratitude. I started keeping a diary and writing down goals.
