Haven believes the key to true success and happiness is to slow down before you go fast. One of the best ways to slow down to learn to go fast is through mindfulness and mindfulness is achieved through daily meditation practice. She also believes the first step in a mindfulness practice is to take excellent care of yourself. This heightened attention will echo throughout each activity you do, giving more power and intention to every pursuit. Of course, she has had a lot of missteps along the way. She still does and considers herself a life-long student. Haven spent 25 years in marketing, sales and business development leading teams, developing talent, crafting campaigns and generating new revenues to grow businesses. Then she stumbled, with grace into a Nia class, began to wake up and walk (and then run) towards a better way. Her passion for Nia and its body, mind, emotion and spiritual healing led to her Reiki Jin Kei Do and integral to her lineage, a dedication to meditation and awareness, mindfulness and compassion. Now Haven helps people do what they do better so they can excel in their career and create success in their whole life that is sustainable and fulfilling. She is an executive coach, speaker, and author. She teaches, guides and practices mindfulness and meditation, Reiki Jin Kei Do and Nia for individuals and groups for body, mind, emotion and spirit wellness, enhanced creativity, focus, productivity, cognitive functioning, decision-making, concentration, efficiency, energy, clarity, alertness, management practices, work-life balance, and happiness. Haven is a Reiki Jin Kei Do Master and Teacher. Unique to the Reiki Jin Kei Do lineage is Buddho EnerSense energy healing therapy and a dedication to mindfulness and daily meditation for the development of wisdom (Kei) and compassion (Jin). She is a Nia Black Belt, 5 Stages of Self-Healing, and 52 Moves Teacher. Haven earned both her BA (Broadcast Journalism) and MBA (Consumer Marketing) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Durham, NC with her best and favorite teachers, Gypsy the doodlebug, Conrail Kitty, and Lucien.
