But, what is more important than life itself? Nothing. And what is one of the most basic things that gives us that life? Food. But when so much time is spent with work, our online presence, and the hustle/bustle of life in the ever-changing world; it seems like we have all lost sight of the basics; especially food.
That's the big lesson I learned from this book - back to basics with food. Mankind learned to feed itself t stay alive. But today, with the ease of availability of junk food, I find myself relying on those quick bits of cholesterol, fat, salt and carbs to mindlessly chew while I work, watch tv, or do whatever I am doing in my overly busy life. Since starting to read Mindful Eating I have seen my food, and eating, in a different way.
