The tool is well built and sturdy, the barrel shape makes it easy to handle. Not fast, nor strong, but precise and easier to use for tight curved cuts. To avoid chipping during 90 degrees cuts, the tool has a zero clearance plate at the blade. Haven't tried other angles than 90, but the mechanism works well. I've cut through maple a whole afternoon making identical pieces, I only used one 1.5 ah batt.
Overall extremely satisfied by this transaction and tool
Simple Pros & Cons for what I need: PROS: -Small/Lightweight -Cordless -Milwaukee brand (I have batteries for this) -Cuts well -Stays straight -Turns easily -Long battery life
CONS: -Dust stays on line -Hard to see while cutting (unless you constantly blow on line)
I am a weekend warrior. The pros for me far out weighed the cons. In practical use I just blow on the line. I don’t have multiple brand batteries and it is super portable. If I’m working on a project I don’t shy away from grabbing this because it’s so easy to use. No cord. Just grab a charger battery and start cutting. That’s what I was looking for.
This is definitely one of my favorite tools that I use the most often! And for a saw it's relatively safe to use! Cuts just about anything! And this M12 version is built like a tank! It must way ten pounds but the weight makes it very stable and easy to cut with. I also have a M12 portable band saw that is awesome and cuts metal like butter! But I wouldn't let my wife use that but I will let her use this jig saw with no worry. This and the multitool are a couple of the most versatile tools you'll ever own.
