Sex: Yes. Very hot. Lots of build up.
Plot: great concept and the execution was nearly flawless, the only time I didn’t feel it was the finale when Penny made her decision. It just didn’t sit with the character growth throughout the book. Then again, I’m not a fan of needy girls and Née did come off as very needy.
Nell was one of those quiet girls who studied hard and never really took risks until her friend talked her into trying out for a new reality TV show. It was amusing and a little corny, but I thought it was hilarious to watch these two interact. Nell would try and push Luke away, and Luke just bided his time!
Luke had his reasons for wanting to win this game, but I could see that he was attracted to Nell from their first meeting. He respected her and I could see that he would do anything for her. I loved the banter between them and how they worked well as a team as the show progressed.
These two were explosive once they hit the sheets, there was all this built up tension and I could see they were meant to be. They trusted one another right up to the end, however a little doubt crawled in, and I was yelling: NO! NO! NO! That twist GRRR! Any way... I read through and enjoyed how it all played out.
Once again, I am loving Katy Evans new series. I enjoyed how this book crossed over with the first and we were able to see those characters growing. I enjoy the chemistry, the banter and the sexy times all rolled into an entertaining read! I hope we get more, and soon!
I enjoyed this story so much more than I did the first book. Yes, it was pretty predictable, however Luke made the story for me. Nell was - well, I gotta say I was not the biggest fan of Nell. For someone so smart, OMG she was such a dumba$$ and I wanted to scream at her to wake up to herself!
I am surprised Luke didn't just leave her at one of their "pitstops" - I mean, the money couldn't have been worth all of her annoyingness.
I did feel for her a little at the end of the story though, which surprised me.
I am not a fan of so called "reality TV" and this still has not endeared it to me at all - I know it is fiction, but we know all this stuff they do behind the scenes is all scripted and manipulated.
This was a fun romp through America with some laugh out loud moments, along with some sad and frustrating moments.
This was such a fun read!
Luke and Nell couldn't be more opposite on paper if they tried. Paired up for a reality show they seem doomed from the start. That is until they choose to ignore their differences & actually work out who they are together.
I loved that this was a spin on the reality television everyone loves and what we all know goes on behind the scenes. I finished it in one session with a big smile on my face.

"Every part of him is so strong and masculine and begs to be adored; he's raw, dirty sex on a cracker."
Penelope AKA Nell Carpenter is a serial student! So much so that she's racked up quite a debt. Cerebral and serious but desperate, she auditions for a reality TV show, and is shocked as hell to be selected. What on earth has she gotten herself into? She's way outside her comfort zone. Especially when she gets paired up with the hot, dirty yeti?
"She looks up at me with those big blue eyes, and it gets me. Right there. In the heart, in my cock."
Luke Cross is on the verge of bankruptcy. His bar is failing and he didn't know that he'd also inherited a heap of mortgages with it. In desperation, he auditions for a reality TV show where he could win a million dollars. The minute he sets eyes on the nerdy girl with the big glasses and cute freckles, and giant textbook, he's wants her. However, it appears that she can't stand him. Even better when they are paired up together for the challenge of their lives.
"I kiss her. Tongue and teeth, hands and hair. Crush her lips with mine and devour her mouth like she's my last meal."
This was a hugely addictive read! I thought it was fun and thrilling. Luke and Nell were complete opposites in every way. Luke was an absolute sweetheart - he was honest, likeable and had a lot of integrity. He had excellent social skills and I adored his undeniable attraction to Nell. She, in contrast, was socially awkward, lacked a lot of self-confidence, but I loved how being with Luke helped her blossom. I loved her determination and her smarts.
This was a fabulous hot, hot read with a lot of character!
Both Nell and Luke come through the preliminary rounds and are selected as finalist. But the contracts they have to sign are not as straight forward as they first thought. And contestants are deliberately paired as totally opposites in personality and then expected to tell and undertake a series of challenging trials. With the couple coming last each time to be eliminated. How are couple first chosen?
Some couples seem to instinctively gell from the beginning with their relationships and executing the tasks. Yet Nell and Luke struggle. But why? Well, l suggest you get this book if you want to know the whole saga. The many twists and turns in the plot, some surprising, will keep you on your toes.
