The Midnight Sun is a feature length short story about a love triangle that develops over the course of one wild evening in the land of the midnight sun. While on a dream vacation, Andrew Taylor Jackson finds himself torn between the girl next door and a super hot southern belle. The love triangle is set in motion when he awakes one morning in a stranger's bed and has to piece together the events of the previous night before he remembers which girl he ended up with.
The Midnight Sun is written in a casual, autobiographical style that is reminiscent of Kerouac, Bukowski and Henry Miller. It contains some hilarious episodes about the eccentric characters who inhabit the land of the midnight sun, and some pretty hot scenes as well:
"When she finished kissing me she ran her pointy little tongue around the edge of my lips like a viper licking the poison off its victim: 'Nice to meechya luver boy. Just wanted to lechya know what yer missin out on,' she said in a sultry southern voice as she walked away, swaying her ass back and forth emphatically to make her point."
The Midnight Sun also appears in the book Sex: 20 Short Stories About Humanity's Favorite Pastime. It is the first in a series of Short Cuts offered by RE:Press to give people a cheap and easy way to sample our work.
