The second book had more of a story line and more interesting characters.
The third was just an excuse for sex. There was no plot, just one night of sex that took up the whole book and then a page of what happened to them in the future.
I was very disappointed in this set as Emily Larkin has previously written some good work. This is just pure rubbish and fixated on sex. I have no objection to a well written sex scene but when the sole focus of 3 books is on sex, I find it a major turn off. Georgette Heyer would be horrified!
Please go back to writing historical romances with a good plot and leave the smut to those who can't write.

This is a lovely story, but one I would have preferred as a full length novel - there was so much more that could have been explored with the story and given it the depth I craved from the hints of promise it showed. For a novella, however, it was still a good one, Rose's situation, her struggle with her husband and the love that Will shows for her throughout were compelling, just short enough that it left me wanting more.
The Spinster's Secret - 4 Stars
I loved Mattie with her tenacity to survive and to get herself out of a situation she finds untenable. Throwing Edward into the mix just as she is getting to the point where she can move on with her plans just made everything more interesting. I wished he had realised more about how he felt earlier in the piece, but other than that, I thought he was a great match for Mattie. Good read.
The Baronet's Bride - 5 Stars
I loved this story, short, sweet and sexy as it is. The story is packed with so much during such a short time frame and emotionally grabs a hold. Cecy and Gareth trying to find their way with each other on their wedding night despite their insecurities was an interesting way to get to know the characters better. Loved it.
